I was just doing some pc maintenance and blew out the dust out of a emachines T3256. When I hooked everything back up i got no signal to the monitor and the computer started to beep contiguously. The light in the front stays yellow for about a minute then goes out. What have I done?

may be you problem is not that but be sure to enter set up bios configuration an check if hard drive is detected if not choose auto and save and exit bios then let it boot normally...it might help!
try hooking it up to an external monitor through your vga jack and see if the sceen appears on the external monitor first. if so then its most likely a bad back light on your laptop screen or inverter
A backup restore cd should have been created when the computer was first installed. But if you don't have the restore cd then this link on the emachines support site may have helpful information:
take out any disk's floppys ect that are still in the computer firstly if this fails then windows mybe completly broken and require a full re install if this answer helps please rate it
are you using the onboard? video... or a seperate vid card? if it was working and then suddenly quit? the onboard vid chip is out! cant replace that either try adding a seperate vid card and reboot
your monitor is beleiving it is not receiving any signal from your pc. 1 make sure your cables are secure. 2 make sure your pc is on. 3 borrow a monitor from a freind to see if your pc is sending the signal out, if the borrowewed monitor is showing a picture, hook yours back up. 4 if still not picture your mpcb or video pcb in the monitor is bad.
