Check your cold water inlet for water flow. The filter screen might be clogged with debris. If there is no debris, you might need a new water inlet valve. It relatively inexpensive and easy to change. You can find them at any appliance supply outlet.
Testimonial: "The cold water inlet screen was plugged with very small sand. Thanks for the help it works well again."
SOURCE: washer will not fill with cold water during cycle
it sounds like your mixture valve is faulty on the cold water side. that is the valve where you screw the hose ends on. it needs to be replaced you can purchase one at your local sears, be sure to take your make and model number with you
SOURCE: hot water doesnt work, switch to warm and warm comes out.
If the cold works on cold wash but the hot don't work on hot wash . Then yes the switch is bad.give What model is it?
SOURCE: GE washer won't fill with cold water
Cold water pipe had become frozen. FYI this model of washer has a nice feature whereas you can test each component i.e. valves, by setting the timer and reading the LED's on the front panel. Instructions are in the schematic.
SOURCE: Cold water will not stop filling during rinse
while the unit is filling in the warm cycle. reach behind and shut off the hot water tap.I bet the water flow stops filling, if so, you would need to change the inlet valve on the machine. You see, in warm, if the cold is not filling, you still hear the hot filling and the unit will advance. The rinse cycles are mostly "cold" only. if the valve is not opening it will not allow it to advance from the rinse section on the board.
Good luck!
SOURCE: Washer only fills with hot water
Probably a bad water inlet valve. To verify, you would have to check continuity at the valve.
