Probe and Bake blink alternately.

This is a JGB920 gas range. The "bake" and "probe" lights blink alternately. If you set it to "bake", the "probe" light flashes and the stove beeps. Is there any way to clear it? I have tried unplugging the whole stove and leaving it unplugged all night, but the problem remains.

I have the XL44 GE range and for the past 7 years we've had no problems. The same probe/bake blinking just started about 1 week ago. Additionally it beeps when you have the bake option in use.

I had the same problem. I resolved it yesterday. Detailed instructions can be found if you access my inquiry under the user name bhmlton. If you can't find them, then let me know and I'll get them to you another way.

The problem resolved itself after about a week, for reasons unknown. Meanwhile, we could not use the oven, so it would be helpful to know if there is a more efficient way of clearing the display than just waiting.

Ours also cleared itself after a couple of days. It drove us "almost" nuts with the sound of the beep while baking.

Viking oven broiler will not ignite

Your gas valve would be my first guess. Is this broiler (and bake ) lit with a glow coil or spark probe that goes (goes click, click, to light)??
If spark probe, you will have to replace either gas valve or spark board.
If glow bar lights the broil but does not glow, then replace glow coil.

GE Profile XL44 range

I think it's the ignitor.   Ours has been doing a very slow lighting for quite a while.  I found if I did a cleaning cycle it seems to work a little better... otherwise a new ignitor  ( Ours is gas )...  now it is flashing the probe and bake lights alternately and will not turn the oven on at all....  not so impressed at this point.....
