Seiko mantle clock (switchable chimes)

I just got this clock that switches from westminster to whittington chimes. I used the information I read on this site to set the chimes. now I'd like to know how to turn the chimes off during the night and also how to stop it chimeing every 15 minutes and just have it chime on the hour. Do you know what time the chimes are supposed to stop and then restart in the mornings? any advice appreciated.

Mine does not have night silencer capability, at least I think it doesn't. It runs on TWO c batteries...(not one like some newer models)...lets me alternate back and forth between westminster and whittington....I can activate the clock, set the time, set the setting for when the chimes begin...but don't seem to be able to find a way to silence them overnight.

From memory, there is a switch on the back for music all the time or not at night based on ambient light. They all have it.

Because we put our Seiko Quartz Westminster Whittington in our bedroom when we recently moved, we would like to know how to remove the chimes.

I have seen a similar type of clock whos' owner wanted to silence the alarm and I found that there was a small switch (unmarked) which turend off the striking feature.

Perhaps yours is the same; look for a switch on the back or the bottom.

I cannot figure out how to syncronize the time and chimes for a Seiko model AQF 153B with Westminster Whittington chimes.

The next time it chimes multiple times turn the hour hand clockwise until it is pointing at the number of times it gonged. Next take off the dial nut off (make sure to put it in a plastic bag because they can be hard to replace) and turn the minute hand until it chimes signaling 15 minutes after. Now put the minute hand back on pointing to 3 o'clock and replace your dial nut and you are all set.

How do i synchronize chimes with clock on westminister whittington clock .

The Westminster/ Whittington clock means that it has 2 or 3 settings.
1. Silent
2. Westminster Based on the music My redeemer liveth by Handel
3. Whittington
Set the clock onto the westminster setting, this is the easiest. At quarter past the hour it should sound 4 notes. The half past should be 8 notes. Quarter to the hour should be 12 notes and the hour should be 16 notes then the striking of the hour. For example on 8 'O clock you should hear 16 notes then the clock should chime 8 times. Sometimes if the hour is out just gently stop the pendulum, check what hour the clock is striking then without taking the hands off move only the hour hand to the hour. Do not do this with the minute hand.
I hope this helps you! If you are not sure please email me [email protected] I fix these clocks.

Whitting and Westminster Jean luis Electronic clock

I found my own solution through trial and error. I set the dials to 12 00 and then move the dials to show just over 5 minuites to 12 ( 1155) the alarm melody start and chimes for a number ( in may case it was one.) then i moved the dial back to 1200 and then reset it again to 1155 or just over. Each time the alarm chimes an increasing number
I had the clock chime settings on the back of the clock to the middle setting (chimes on 24 hours)
I carried out this until the chime was right for the time i was working ( in my case it was 1730) so when it reached 5 chines I then set proper time and left it. The next chime was correct
