I have a Janome 6260. My machine sewed great, but this time when I went to use it the knob on the side of the machine that makes the needle go up and down suddenly got really hard to turn and then when sewing the machine makes a funny noise, and then the needle gets stuck in the down position and will not come back up and the machine stops sewing and an I get a Lo on the screen of the sewing machine. I tried turning the knob to see if I could loosen it a little, I turned the machine off to see if it would reset and nothing has helped..

I've had the Lo come on my screen of my sewing machine also, but normally when I turned it off it corrected the jam up.
Lo- A button is pressed when the machine halts due to a overload
wait 15 seconds to recover
if thread jamming causes the overload, remove the tangled thread
check the bobbin area for lint & loose threads
also check to see if the bobbin is warped
check you needle to see if it's bent-roll on a flat surface to see if it rolls correctly
if it's blunt it makes a popping sound when going thru fabric
let me know if these suggestions help

The needle threader on my Janome 6260 quit working. The needle is inserted correctly.

Is the threader broken or just not meeting the needle eye? If broken, it can most likely be repaired.

If the threader is not meeting the needle eye, adjust the needle height so the threader meets the eye and intercept the thread. I have a 60's machine with a threader that needs the needle height manually adjusted because the needle does not stop in any particular place. Usually, if I raise the needle to its highest, the threader will work.

6260 janome sewing machine will not pick up thread?

Needle damaged, in backwards, wrong needle, needle not fully up in the needle clamp; bobbin in backwards or wrong and/or machine out of time. User error is far more common than timing problems.

How do you set the tension on a janome 6260 sewing machine?

Refer to the manual.

You turn the tension knob - the higher the number the tighter the stitch.

First, thread the machine with the presser foot up. This opens the tension control for the thread to properly enter.

Then, when you lower the presser foot, the tension control closes to the setting you have selected.
