SSR-EP25SE has oil discharge from air intake we have a repair kit for the intake shuttle valve but know drawing with parts.vbMy question is what seals off the shuttle side valve to the casting this is a aluminum valve mating to a aluminum casting. The valve has a groove machined in the face but the repair kit doesn't have a o-ring or a seal or drawing to explain. Do you have a service drawing for the air intake assy.

Just some information that may lead you to parts, The compressor sold thru Lowes (Kobalt) must be the same mfg. because the parts look like they would interchange. A trip to Lowes may verify. Maybe they have a compressor with bad motor for your parts. Good Luck

SOURCE: dewalt D55155 air compressor regulator installation

The d55155 unit suffers from regulator problems due to weakness in the design of the manifold. The manifold parts are very light duty metal and will break during installation if not carefull. If you can return the parts to dewalt it may be more efficient to to use a generic pressure regulator from www.grainger.com for about 20 bucks and mount using a couple of 1/4" tees directly off the pressure switch. Remove the hose from the pressure switch that feeds air to the manafold . Install parts so that the quick disconnects, guages and new regulator are accessable from the side. It will not be pretty but problem will be solved for long term. We repair other brands that come with control panels using the same method. Pressure regulators built into a manafold will fail. For demanding customers we have recreated the manafold using 1/4 pipe fittings and refit the gauges and grainger regulator into panel.(lots of work) But leave the safety unloader at the pressure switch. If all you need is a good functioning compressor same time and money and mount to side. Good Luck and email if you have questions or other issues with your dewalt.

Ingersoll rand ssr 25 ep high discharge pressure.

Still believe it is the Minimum pressure check valve or the discharge line is plugged some where. The check valve may move freely at the disc but the piston should move (not so freely due to the large spring) keeping it closed. It should take about 65 lbs PSI to open check valve. Check it all again and if you find nothing you have a discharge line plugged some where.

My ssl5l compressor builds pressure real slow now. Rings or Valves? it did get a little warm while sandblasting lately....

Very rare to have problems with rings. Blow-by would produce high pulsating pressure in the crankcase causing oil to blow out the oil filler plug/ dipstick. If normal crank pressure, suspect problem with valves or gaskets. Remove air filter cover and check for air blowing out of intake or very hot head or air discharge tube. Leaking valves or blown gasket will cause low volume/ low pressure and hot discharge air. Remove the in-tank checkvalve and look for carbon deposits /debris build-up. If the checkvalve and the interior or discharge hose are coated with oil deposits /carbon, most likely problem is valve plate/ gaskets /head. Good luck with your repair.

The pressure will not build up

Remove the air from the compressor using the drain valve.
Remove the discharge hose. The one that goes from the pump to the tank.
Remove the air filter (and check condition)
switch the compressor on an with your hand, partially cover the air intake where the air filter bolts on(be carfull not to fully cover it).
You should feel the pump drawing air in.
If it dosn't draw you have a broken/leaking valve or a blown cross-over gasket if it is of the type with a split valve plate.
You'd need to remove the head/valves/plate to confirm this.

If it did draw in air,
Stop the compressor & re-fit the discharge hose.
Now run for a few seconds and check the draw again.
If its suction reduces you also have a valve/plate/cross-over gasket problem.

If it draws fine.

stop the compressor and loosen the discharge hose at the tank end.
You may hear a short air leak at first, but you should not hear air contniously leaking.
If it continiously leaks air then the check valve in the tank is shot.
NOTE: NEVER remove this valve if the compressor has air in the tank/receiver.
This should locate your problem for you.

Discovery II Right Rear keeps going down

No, the Shuttle Valve would give you the "3 Amigos" on the dash, ABS, HDC and TC will all illuminate. Your problem is probably an air leak in one of the bags (£100 or so), which you should replace as your compressor will be working harder than it should be, and will eventually also fail!
Could also be the height sensor (£35) but that is less likely.

Compressor spits out oil when unit is stopped

MIGHT CAN HELP. NOT AN I.R. EXPERT BUT KNOW A GOOD BIT ABOUT SCREW COMP. ARE YOU SHUTTING UNIT DOWN SUDDENLY WITH EMERGENCY STOP OR SOMETHING. SOME UNITS DO THIS MORE THAN OTHERS BECAUSE THE WAY THE VALVE CLOSES. BURPING OIL THROUGH THE INTAKE IS ALSO CAUSED BY SUDDEN STOP INSTEAD OF THE UNIT SLOWLY SHUTTING DOWN AND THE OIL IS RUNNING BACK SLOWLY. THE UNIT ACTUALLY TURNS BACKWARDS A LITTLE BIT. YOUR OIL SHOULD NOT COST THAT MUCH. YOU CAN CONTACT ME FOR PARTS AND PRICING ON THE OIL. YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF MONEY WITH AFTERMARKET SERVICE PARTS AND OIL -THEYRE JUST AS GOOD AS OEM.I WOULDNT USE 30W OIL ! YOUR POOR AIR DELIVERY MAY BE AFFECTED BY WORN PARTS DUE TO LUBRICATION. HOW OLD IS UNIT? MODEL # ? CONTACT ME [email protected] FOR INFO & PRICING. ME AND 1 TECH WOULD PROBABLY COME DOWN AND FIX IT FOR YOU FOR AN ALL EXPENSE TRIP FOR FREE. WE ARE IN NC AND DONT GET OUT ENOUGH.

Dewalt compressor not filling with air drained tank closed valve

Some dewalt air compressors with single cylinder are known to develop trouble with reed valves and /or failed gaskets in head. Parts lists and parts are available at WWW.toolpartsdirect.com Simple test is to remove air filter and check for suction at intake. Bad reeds will tend to blow air out intake as pressure increases. Failed gaskets in head will cause very high temp at discharge hose. Parts are not too expensive. Enjoy
