Ghd30y7 goldstar dehumidifier

Leaking on floor and not in bucket.

Same problem here. Water pools on floor not in bucket. Under warranty, but LG/Goldstar is giving the runaround. Sending us to authorized repair shops that don't do small appliances. Horrible customer service!

Believe it is same issue -- although in-unit bucket fills, water also pools on floor around dehumidifier.  Have confirmed that collection bucket does not leak and examined unit for obvious defects.

Water is leaking out of the bottom left corner of the unit instead of draining into the bucket inside the machine. It seems that the top of the unit is filled with water and it will not drain into the bucket. Help!

May have stumbled onto solution. Attempted to re-direct drain by inserting plastic tube into drain hole. After removing tube have seen no leaks. Perhaps deposits had accumulated and were dislodged by tube.

Simple enough to warrant an attempt.

I have the same problem. My DH304 has worked great for 2 years, and now suddenly the water comes out onto the floor, from the right hand side of the machine, and does not go into the in-machine bucket (I do not have a hose connected.) When I tilt the machine back, a ton of water comes out. I don't see where it is collecting. Thanks for any insights.

I have the same exact issue. My unit (GHD30Y7) is only 1year old. Does not seem to have power- auto light off and appears to be off. After a few days, I plug it in and it run for 2 minutes with no power light then shuts off. What is the solution?

We came home to this problem the other day, water all over the basement, leaking out the bottom left side, nothing in the collection basin but plenty would spill out if I tipped the unit forward. After searching the web and these forums I theorized that the coils were frozen. I let the unit thaw. No luck. I removed the faceplate and discovered thick, wet silt had filled the internal collection plate and was clogging the drain. I stuck a pipe-cleaner through the drain and the problem was fixed. Took some paper towels and cleaned the whole thing. Works like new. I assume the unit will need to be cleaned regularly to keep it going. To remove the faceplate, unscrew the two phillips' head screws under the faceplate along the sides, then take a flat head screwdriver and pop the tabs holding the face on, one tabe along each side. There are also two tabs on top, but you don't need to mess with those, as they simply act against gravity. Whole thing just clips back together after cleaning. I have no idea if this voids the warranty.

One thing hat will cause these dehumidifiers to stop is if the air filter gets dirty, there is a sensor behind that which will shut the unit off. Easy fix, pull the bottom bucket container out for access, then slide the plastic air filter down. I got one of these dehumidifiers free because that was the only thing wrong, the filter was black from dirt. Washed it out with water and its back up and running.

Also Icould see how the drain could get clogged which would block the water from dripping down to the bucket or hose.If you have this problem remove the front plastic panel wher the knobs and filter is, unscrew the 2 screws then press inward on the center of the side metal panel while pulling ouward on the plastic panel to detach one side then the other side and it swings up and off. Visually check the bottom plastic black piece wher ethe water collects and drips out the L shaped tube, check for blockage and clean if needed.

You didn't say which bucket, the humidifier collection container, or another bucket? If it is another bucket the user manual should tell you how to attach the hose adapter properly to your dehumidifier. You can obtain the manual by typing your model number into the search area of your browser. Again. Is your humidifier high enough so that the hose isn't 'backing up'? Or if you are not using a hose, is your 'float' working freely?

Overflow on floor

The problem you're having can be caused by a couple things.

1. The float valve in the top of the water collection bucket is broken or is stuck in the Down position.
Remove the bucket, and inspect the float valve for damage or sticking. If it's stuck in the DOWN
position, jiggle the arm of the float valve, to make it works freely.

2. The water collection bucket is not installed properly and water is leaking out the back of the
top of the bucket. When installing the bucket, be sure it's installed "squarely" into the bucket
holder from top to bottom and making firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the
rear wall of the bucket holder.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

No water collecting, unit running

the collector base under the tubes just collects water and drips it through a hole into the water bucket. there must be a loose hose(if it has one) or the base collector or bucket has a crack, as they usually are plastic. also if the unit is sitting on a very uneven floor this will happen

Goldstar dehumidifier

The hose connector does not drain the bucket, it drains the condensate before it enters the bucket. Tube passes through back of dehumidifier by the cord wrap area. (you may have to remove a small cover)

Dehumidifier Error?

Same problem with Goldstar model DH404EY7 -- stop code 01 on startup, bucket full light blinks (drains to floor).

Replaced the main controller board to fix it.

For my model dehumidifer the part # is 6871A20888A, and cost $77.44 (not counting shipping) from Appliance Factory Parts. The Appliance Factory Parts web site also provides parts breakdown (exploded parts diagram) diagrams and service manuals in PDF form.
