Err 999 My D50 has a flashing Err with a number 999 and it won't take any pictures. I can review pictures that I have taken but it won't take new ones. I can't find this code anywhere. Does anyone know what has to be done to get rid of this err and clear the camera for operation? Thanks!

Appreciate the suggestions. I tried them with no luck. Afraid I'll have to see an authorized Nikon dealer. Thanks!

You can reset the camera 2 ways... soft reset is to remove and replace the battery. To hard reset, there is a microswitch on the bottom of the camera body opposite from the battery compartment. Youll have to reset the camera's clock if you do this. If it still doesnt work, have a Nikon authorized camera shop look at it.

My Nikon D50 in picture play back mode is giving pictures in multi colour not as pictures ?

I'm not sure what you mean by "multi-colour mode" but this page shows all of the possible playback display modes and describes them. Hopefully this helps you. I use a D7000 which is quite similar and I've never seen a multi-color mode. Nikon D50 SLR Review

Err popping up on top of bar when try to take a picture flash does not come up and also when looking in it also appears inside

When a Nikon camera says Err, something is wrong with the memory card. Perhaps it is not inserted correct. Or not a card inside at all. Perhaps you can't write to the card or it should be formatted.
When you have a Err, the camera won't do a thing, to avoid the user can think he is shooting pictures and the camera won't save one.

Dropped my Nikon D50 and now it shows there is no SD card in it and the battery indicator is flashing. Nothing appears on the LCD - including the menu. I've taken the SD card out and the battery and...

Contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com to see what they recommend. I don't think the warranty covers abuse such as dropping the camera so you may be in for an expensive repair. However, he Nikon techs may be able to suggest something that might help you avoid that expense.

Moultrie D50 game trail camera won't take pictures in dark

Does the flash work? Could be flash circuit or day/night sensor. If you have another D40/D50 camera that flash works but has other problems, swap out the sensors. If not the sensor but the flash circuit then most likely one of the large charge capacitors which has to be soldered in.I use a digital multimeter with I/O capacitor test function..these caps should be about 250mfd.

I have a Nikon D50 with a Err message and I can't take pictures anymore. What would be the cause for this? Eric

"err" is a cmara malfunction. If the camera has a hardware reset button, give that a try. If that does not work, then examination by an authorized Nikon Service Center is advised.

My DMC-TZ3 always stores images in haphazard order, not the exact order in which they were taken. Why? And how can I make it store images in chronological order please?

This is from the manual: "File numbers are reset when new folders are created." "New folders are created in the following cases: 1. When pictures are taken to folders containing files numbered 999. 2. When using cards already containing the same folder number (including pictures taken other cameras, etc.) 3. When recording after performing a 'NO. RESET' (found in the setup menu).

Nikon D50 Flashes Err and clicks

hi..
This screen shows areas of the photo that are overexposed slightly.
It flashes them to help you.
You get to this screen by pressing the up or down arrows when displaying the pictures you have taken.

To change it just press the up arrow when the camera is showing the screen until you get a display without flashing.

Once you have done this the display will be steady.
If you get any other screen in future you may have accidently pressed the arrow again.
Just cycle thru the displays to get back to steady.

thank u

Flashing "Err" message with a code 999. Can't shoot pictures.

Try resetting the camera.

First a soft reset is to just replace the battery. If that doesn't work try a hard reset - on the bottom the other side to the battery flap.
