Cannot uninstall and reinstall printmaster 15. will not uninstall in the add or remove . when I try to open the program it comes up "cannot determine configuration"

You just about had it right, you should have clicked on the uninstall button istead. Also go into the start menu and find the program that way, when you click on the program you should see few menu choices under the window, one of these should be pemove/uninstall this program
Troubleshoot Compatibility
This can help with some (but not all) programs/drivers:
1) Uninstall the program if it's already installed. Then when you install/reinstall it instead of double clicking on the install file right click it and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility"
2) Then click "Try Recommended Settings" and in the next window click "Start the Program" to install it.
3) After it installs see if it works correctly. Please note - some programs may not be able to run in Windows 7.

If you have tried using the "Add/Remove" or the uninstaller from the software itself and cannot uninstall the program. Reinstall the program again and unistall it.
If it is not sucessfull, then Try using the System Tools "System Restore" utility in XP to restore your Operating System to the point before you install the software.
May have to uninstall it first, then reinstall it.
Click START button, lower left corner
then click Control panel
then click on add or remove programs
*see if your product is listed(may be under BRODERBUND or other publisher name)
If it IS listed, uninstall it
Or sometimes the UNINSTALL is included in the CD options:
Insert the cd into the drive
go to my computer
find the cd drive
right-click the drive
select "explore"

Most definitely this could be your problem! I would reccomend that you completely uninstall Printmaster 12, run another virus check, then reinstall the program. Once the program is installed, update it through the vendor and it should work fine. You should be able to find the vendor (PrintMaster) updates through the help menus.
First I would uninstall the program again. Then go to start, search and look for PMUSERS.dat and delete it. Restart your computer It is also a good thing to temporaily turn off any antivirus software before
installing also. Many programs like this Broderbund product do not
install completely with the antivirus software on. Then reinstall the program and it should run ok.

Make sure you can see all the files. (My computer --> Tools --> Folder Options ---> View (tab) --> <Select 'Show hidden files ...' option.
Find the folder you have indicated.
C:\DOCUME~1\Jan\LOCALS~1\Temp\{A35C2323-3CEA-405C-9569-EF5DDE930B2F} Delete that flder. Restart the computer and reinstall the software.
