The screen shows "archos entertainment your way" then go's to error code 102 and do i want to repair or reboot,tried both and it just go's back to "archos entertainment your way"tried a reset no good.
You need reset the master reset on your wifi ...
In the event that your ARCHOS freezes or does not respond anymore, try to reset
it: press the button for 15 seconds (the ARCHOS will shut down completely)
and turn it on as usual.
If this does not work, you can also press the “master reset” button as shown below.
You can use the end of a paper clip to press the button in the hole.

1. If you have a 102 error, try to turn off the Archos, take out the SD memory and turn on again. If you don't have the same error code, just insert the SD memory and never turn off the Archos:)
2. You can reset the system by using a paper clip and press the button next to the connector on the bottom. You can go to the archos site http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/manuals.html?country=global&lang=en and download the manual, it will show you where to reset with paperclip.
If all else fails, and your device is still under warranty, I recommend getting it replaced.

I did some searching and here is what I found:
The problem occurs if the OS got corroupted,
Follow the steps.
First download the lastest Firmware ( OS-(firmware_a605.aos)) from the ARCHOS website.
Plug your device to your PC
Power down the unit completely, While off hold down the Power and TV/LCD button. This will bring up again the screen with 3 options.
1) No
2) Repair
3) Formate Disk
choose the Repair option, wait for 5 mins then you can see your device detected in the PC.
copy the OS .aos file downloaded from ARCHOS website to the root of the device not in any folders.
In your device now choose the option done. It will update the new OS and it will restart automatically.

Most posts I found on this issue indicated a failed hard drive in the 605. A lot of comments on quality too.
There's a possible error on the disk or the archos storage, - a certain corrupt file could possibly the one making the unit into freeze..
