I have a jeep depth meter watch which is about 8-10 years old.it is the same movement as citizen's aqualand models with depth sensor, descent alarm ..etc.following a water damage i think it stopped working.the watch lab company in preston couldn't fix it saying that as it is a discontinued product they couldnt get parts for it.i was wondering if there is anyone out there who can watch it maybe with parts from citizen as it is exactly the same inside.
Re: I have a jeep depth meter watch which is about 8-10...
From my contacting Jeep watches.com, I've found that is by a UK Distributor and not the US ... You should contact the UK Distributor ... [email protected] or Phone: +44 (0)1942 845 600. DB

This watch needs to be sent back to the factory to get the movement replaced. I am doing this for the second time in 4 years. Citizen Europe states it's a defective design. The watch goes into dive mode with sweat, humidity and washing your hands. The water sensor tells the computer it's gone diving but the pressure sensor isn't telling it the same thing which causes a fault with the computer. I was told to cover the water sensor with WAX by the factory repair facility. WAX on a $400 dive watch. Great. They shold have used the pressure sensor to initiate dive mode. Customer Service said it wasn't defective, so it was designed to need this part everytime the battery has to bre replace.
You can get instructions from the Citizen web site.
Go to "citizen.com" and on the upper right there is a menu. Click on "technical support" and then on "setting instructions"
Fill in the information required from the back of your watch and then click on "get setting instructions"
or
Go to "citizen.com" and click on "watch finder".
Put your watch model into the search box on the left and click on "search". Click on the watch to view details. On the right is a small menu, click on "get technical info"
On the right you you will see a list of instructions you can download.
It turns to "chek" if the moisture sensor that triggers dive mode when you go in the water is exposed to water and you don't dive for more than an hour. The sensor is very easily triggered by sweat, so all you got to do is wipe the sensor between the crown and the upper right button with dry cloth and "chek" will go away.
I have looked at the Citizen web site and this range is still current (although your model does not appear on their list).
I would be surprised if Citizen would not be able to repair an expensive watch, after all, we expect watches to run for a considerable number of years. I have much cheaper watches that are decades only and still running.
If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you contact Citizen yourself (www.citizenwatch.com/COA/English/service.asp). This link will take you to their service page, where you can decide who you should contact.
First of all they should be giving you explanation why the watch needs whole movement replacement and what is the cause. As the watch movements are upgraded and made more sophisticated every year, some of them are discontinued and the next generation movements are replacing them. Watch manufacturing companies usually try to produce interchangeable movements, so, the newer one can replace the older. In your case (if there is no newer version replacement) you have no option, but to shop around for exact new movement for replacement. All you have to do is to find out your watch's movement number (that Citizen facility in CA should give that) and then shop for it. Plenty of movemevts on ebay, not to mention specialized watch part supplier companies. All available over the internet - just takes some time and nerve.
