Coleman tsr mach 3 RV Air Conditioner

I bought a Camping trailer that has a Coleman Tsr Mach 3 Air conditioner on it. I can run the fan on it on High, or Low for hours. When I put it in the "cool" position it cuts off after about 10 min. This happens wheather it is in the high or low setting.

The compressor runs for about 10 min. , then it pops the breaker. I thought it was the generator tha I was using, but does the same thing when the camper is plugged into the house. (blows the house breaker)

The fan motor bearings need lub....the shaft has a tiny access hole to put some oil into. because the fan shaft is slowing down, it is putting more strain on the voltage current, and eventually the internal breaker shuts down the ac........plus your condenser is not getting enough air accross it, compressor heats up, and it too will shut the unit down......older units have to be oiled every year, and eventually it too will fail, and a new blower motor assembly is needed or replace the ac unit.....blower motor units are around $130....now you install it or pay to have it done at around another $150 labor,,,,,try yourself, if it fails then call the tech........let me know [email protected]

You will need to go on the roof and remove the cover There can be several thing wrong there is float or sensor switch in the drain pan area on most models make sure the drain is clear also does the compresser run for the 10 mins only if so i need to know but check the drain line first to make sure it is not clogged up

Coleman tsr rv air conditioner leaks into rv when running

It probably has a clogged condensate drain. Take off the cover on top the RV and check hoses or tubes leaving unit for debris or lint. Often this water is used to help cool the condenser so look for leaves pine needles etc in the pan. There may be a cover you can remove on the evaporator section that will allow you to clean the collection pan and hose or trough. Is it possible the RV is far enough out of level that the condensate can't "run uphill"? Always power off while working on this unit unless you are electric savvy. Good luck!

Tsr mach3 conditioner

The smell is because of the stuff growing inthe water from the air conditioner. When you run the a/c it keeps the water condensed on the coil. When you turn the a/c off and run just the fan, it allows the water to warm up and start evaporating thus allowing the goodies in the water to become airborn. It would be adviseable to have the unit disassembled and cleaned by a professional due to the obvious danger of mixing water and cleaning chemicals with electrical equipment

Coleman tsr mach 3 RV Air Conditioner

I don't think you need a new one just a good cleaning and service. The unit has a liquid high temperature line near the compressor with a fan blowing outside air across it this coil gets clogged over time with air-borne dirt and pollen and leaves and such and must be cleaned regularly or the unit will be unable to remove the heat from the coil and during the peak demand (3pm) the circuits that protect the compressor and the trailer wiring from being overloaded and burning or melting will trip. From what you have described it sounds like the RV is working as it should with a condenser coil that needs to be cleaned. GL and happy camping!
P.S. I've only serviced the occasional RV unit but in those cases I laid a piece of plywood on top of the Rv for work platform removed the retaining screws from the top cover and used a spray bottle with a good heavy foaming cleaner a shop-vac and a brush to get the job done.

Coleman TSR RV air conditioner

There should be a solar panel on top of your roof top air conditoner. There is a quick disonnect for the solar panel. If the monitor light illuminates the solar panel is working.
