I just bought my tv last week, and it seems like the color scheme is out of whack. People's lips and ears are much more red or rosy than normal, and sometimes it looks like you can see the color going in and out. Is there something within the settings I can change?

H you haven't specified what type of tv it is but given it is last week you purchased, it can be assumed to be LCD/Plasma. A setup procedure I used to do on the old CRT tv 's when setting the customer controls were as follows.
1) set tv to locally transmittted programme material (eg News -NOT ADVERTS - They are always too bright

It's very possible that they have produce a new formula. I would try to discontinue use just to be 100% sure that it is what's causing the negative reaction. It is also possible that you are newly allergic to something that has been there all along

After the tv has been off for only a few minutes and you turn it back on the picture will flash on and off for 5-10 minutes and eventualy it stays on and works fine till you turn it off again.

Hmm, you have 2 possibilities that I can think of. First, if the picture color and brightness seem relatively normal, I would replace the CRT driver on the C board. This is attached to the back of the CRT via the pin socket. Second, if you notice a darker picture or faded color during the cycling period... things are not as rosy. This is a good indicator of a High GR (gas ratio) condition. Basically, your CRT is leaking.

I just bought a New E-machine about a week ago and plugged it up to my TV monitor, now my screen has some sort of green bluish tint to it . When i unplug the computer and hook it up to the DVD or...

You didn't indicate what type of connection you have between the TV and the PC. The basic color scheme is red-blue-green, so your tint sounds like it's missing the red. It could be a cable problem, can you try replacing it/them. Or it could be a problem with the computer. If you don't want to return it you could try a different video card. I'm assuming you are using the motherboard video drivers.

Trying to hook up the dvd player to the tv and I figured out how to get the color back on but the sound is terrible it sounds like its echoing. Can't figure out the blue green red combination for white red...

Your TV probably has several different ways of connecting video. One is component, which uses three cables. They are red, green, and blue (RGB). The video output on your DVD player will match this color scheme.

Another scheme for video is composite (because it combines the red, green, and blue into one cable). Composite video is usually a yellow "socket". It is simpler to connect, but the video quality is noticeably poorer than component (RGB).

Another scheme is S-Video. This is one cable (round and black), but you will see four pins inside the connector (and four holes in the "socket"). This accounts for the three cables in the component scheme with the convenience of having only one cable. The picture quality is almost as good as component as well.

In your case, there may be confusion between composite and component. If you have red, green, and blue sockets on both the DVD and TV, then make sure you use them and connect them color for color.

Now for the sound, this is simpler. Red is the right channel, and white is the left. Make sure you connect red to red and white to white. Then, viola, everything will be right.

I hope this helps.
