Try using a card reader to download the missing 1000 pics. In the future, don't leave so many pics on the card...they aren't made for long storage. Canon digital camera IXUS 86015 Yesterday I lost - 0b2a25a.jpg

I bought my canon digital 1XUS 86015 in Hong Kong and didn't notice the manual was in Chinese. Is there a free English one available. I know nothing about my camera.

Your camera is an Ixus 860 IS which is also known as the SD870 IS in the USA. Here is a link to the PDF user manual on the Canon website:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/1/0900009921/01/PSSD870IS_IXUS860IS_CUG_EN.pdf

and here is the Canon Brochures and Manuals page for your camera:

Camera lens dont close

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

What type/kind of charger should be use with a Canon IXUS 86015?

You will need to go to the manufacturers web site and check to see if they have a download

available for your camera to work with Vista. I have the same problem with my camera and now

use AdobePhotoShop software to process all of my photos and video, and if I may say "it

works just great"!!!

Language problem

Turn the camera on, and make sure you are in the playback mode (not picture taking mode). Press and hold the FUNC button, and while holding it press the MENU button. You should see a list of languages available on the LCD screen. Use the arrow keys to select English, then press the FUNC button again.

Canon ixus 86015 playback problem

Hi

I think your model is the Ixus 860 IS (SD870 IS in North America) but it's no big deal really.

Sounds like you should probably just reset all the settings back to default and start over, you never know what you may have changed that you don't want changed.

Most likely all you did was decrease the time before the camera goes into power save mode and turns off the LCD to save battery power, but I think starting over is probably a good thing.

Good luck and hope you enjoy the camera: Darntoothysam com (digital camera parts and repair)

Canon Ixus 86015

Sounds like you (inadvertently?) had the Color Accent Mode turned on (an icon which shows an eyedropper with an A next to it), which is available on the same menu where you select Manual Mode.

When you press the Func/Set button, with the icon in the top left corner highlighted, along the bottom you will see the options available, including the Color Accent Mode, any of which are selectable by using the left/right arrows and pressing the Func/Set button again.

On a Cannon Powershot IXUS 86015 How do i change the language back to english?

Hey thaze,
According to the manufacturer you need to press the playback button, which looks like a triangle pointing to the right. Next you need to hold down the func. /set button, and press the menu button. Next you need to use the up/down arrows, or the right/left arrows to choose the desired language and then press the func. /set button. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
