I would say yes, just remember that replacement washing machines are getting really expensive. First, get a couple of quotes on repairing your Maytag washing machine. Ok, what does Lr. mean? Maybe I could save you some money, that is if you are mechanical inclinded. GB...stewbison.
Hello there The LR error on your non-spinning Maytag Neptune is usually, though
not always, accompanied either by a burn spot or a blown fuse on the
Motor Control Board.

Either way, it means just one thang: a new motor and motor control board kit are in your future.
L means "Lid or Door Lock" problem r probably means 'release' I couldn't find it anywhere... so I'd guess that Lr means the machine did not detect that the Lid Lock released and cycle end (which means either the sensor is bad or the Lid Lock dosen't lock the Lid).
Either way, something with the Lid Lock system ais not right. Be glad it releases ;-)
LR usually means that the the signal from the board is not getting to
the motor either because of a bad connection at either the motor or the
board or the motor itself is no good. Need to check the connections
first.
