I have a Dell LCD W3000 purchased in 2004 and about a year after I got it. It started having problems coming on and I would turn it off and on several times and finally get it to come on. I finally this summer lost my picture in picture so took it to a T.V. repair shop. I have been using this as a moniter and was very disappointed dell can't get the part that seems to be a signal board module, part numer 6870-750A11, that is what the t.v. repair man wants to start to see if that is it. I have tried everything to get a dell person to help find this part with do success. If anyone knows how to get this part please post it. The logic board is usall y the problem on these units. The main symptoms that first you have to push the power button numerous times to get it to power on. Or you have power and audio with no picture. In either case the logic board is bad. We repair these boards. www.lcdrepair.us
Here is my suggestion.. sell it to me.. or I can ship you a new power board, a typical problem with these units. I have several power boards in stock (new). They are $129 each. If you are interested, email [email protected].

The problem of the picture not firing up right away on the Dell w3000 display is a manufacture defect in the LCD Inverter Boards. Could be master and could be slave that's failing. Most likely Master, but I suggest replacing both master and slave just to be sure. Stay away from pulled parts sold on ebay for this fix. You'll just be buying the same problem most likely. Try http://www.lcdparts.net/InverterDetail3D.aspx?ProductID=1921 I have ordered from them in the past they are reliable and handle RMA's quickly. This is a huge plus if you run into another problem trying to replace. They want 149.00 and the fix requires very little skill level to replace. Just have to decide if 149 bucks is worth it, or is it time to go for the 50 inch. hmnmm. Good Luck,
On the bottom of the tv there are two boards that buffer the vertical sections of the screen. You need to take the tv apart (if you're able) and look for burnt sections on the buffer board below the problem area. Once you replace this section of board you will have no problems. The problem is happening once the board heats up from normal use.
This is the way all of these fail. Don't buy Dell TV's.
Try this internet posted solution. Turn on TV with remote control, if the TV does not light-up, find the Main Power Switch. Turn the switch off, then turn it on, the TV lights-up. Probably caused by poor contacts due to age and low quality parts.
Yes I tried it and now I have nothing, not even a green light. So much for that. I have 2 of these sets. If you never unplug them from 110 I never have a problem. Un plug them and wait 2-3 days and nothing.
Any lawyers what to take this on?
This may not be DVI issue.
I connected DVD player HDMI ----> DVI ( Dell W3000) LCD TV.
Later I found that Dell TV version of DVI does not support HDCP protocol ( High Definition Content Protection protocol). So I could not play HDMI to DVI movies from my DVD player instead I use Y Pb Pr -- this works ok.
Hope this helps... I am not use PS3 enforces HDCP - I assume Sony linked with Sony Pictures would enforce HDCP on HDMI cable.
Try turning the master power on and off a few times. Give it a few secs inbetween power offs and that should work. It's worked for me. Sometimes it takes longer that other times to show a picture.
