No, it's not possible, it'll never read SDHC in the SD slot. SD slot will only read SD, Mini SD (with adaptor) and Micro SD (with Adaptor). If there's no SDHC card slot, then it doesn't support SDHC Card. The lists of supported memory card are listed below:
CompactFlash™ Type I and II,
Secure Digital/MultiMediaCard/Secure MultiMediaCard (SD),
xD-Picture Card,
Sony Memory Stick®,
MagicGate Memory Stick,
Memory Stick Duo,
Memory Stick Pro

I hope this clears your doubt.

Note: SDHC and SD are different Memory Card types.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My hp officejet 7210 all in one will not read my SDHC memory card for my new Panasonic camera. Why? Should I purchase just a SD memory card? Will that work?? Thanks

Purchasing an SD card might be better. Just for the fact that when your printer was manufactured the technology for SDHC cards were still not incorporated in your printer.

My Lumix DMC ZS7 reads "insert sd card again" when I have a full sd card inserted. The sd card is "verbatim sdhc 4gb" any idea? Thanks in advance

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

If your manual doesn't specifically mention SDHC cards or memory card size bigger than 2GB, then the camera almost certainly won't work with SDHC. My Lumix won't work with anything larger than 1GB SD.

I have tried a new sd card for more memory and it reads card error with every new card i try i've tried 3 different cards now and the original still works so i know the reader works but it just doesnt...

You won't be able to use a card larger than about 1GB (maybe 2GB) in this camera. "SD" cards larger than 2GB are actually SDHC cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Is there a maximum SD memory card that I can use on my Panasonic Lumix DMCZ7. I have tried to use a 16 & 24Mb SD card but the camera will not read it and displays a ' card error reading message'

I think you mean 16 and 24 GB (Gigabyte), not MB, but those would not be SD cards. A card that size is actually an SDHC card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different. Many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

If you really mean 16MB, then that would be rather small, not too big. 16MB is definitely compatible with the camera and is mentioned in the manual.

The maximum memory card size mentioned in the manual is 1GB, and that is quite big enough. If you really need more space, then just carry a spare, like people used to take extra film with them on holiday.

I purchased a sdhc 4gb memory card for my Panasonic DMC-LZ2 Camara and when I put it in I get a message that says memory card error. Do I need to format it? and how do I do that

The DMC-LZ2 uses SD and MMC cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible. You will need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Hp Photosmart 8150 can't read sdhc memory card

Unless the SD slot is specifically designated that it can read the new SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory card it will not read even though it plugs intop the standard SD slot.. I checked and this printer can't read the SDHC card only the standard SD card. You can buy a SDHC USB reader on ebay for a few dollars.

Camera can not read the memory card. Camera works fine on internal memory, but can not access the sdhc card.

Memory card error for 4GB SDHC card on HP Photosmart printer 2710

Well SD max is 2gb, so you can get 2gb if you want.

SDHC max is 32gb. If you are not on a budget, try upgrading your printer to a newer model.

SDHC is coming out with even newer models, now with a class 10 (10mb read/write speed - but very costly).

However, if it doesn't matter to you, might as well just stick with the same printer, since SD cards are coming down in price. Just make sure you get 2gb cards with a good class speed.

Sorry for the extreme delay in answering your question: I've been trawling for old unanswered questions today and yours came up. The following answer will undoubtedly be way too late to be of use to you, but may assist others searching FixYa for an answer to the same problem.

You have been mistaking SD cards for SDHC cards. They look the same but are different, and your camera cannot use SDHC cards as it was designed before they existed. The limitation is due to the hardware in your camera so it cannot be updated to SDHC standards.

Your 2GB card was definitely an SD card as SDHC cards have a minimum capacity of 4GB, and 2GB SD cards are the maximum capacity which your camera can handle. Your only fix is to either stick to 2GB maximum capacity SD cards or to replace the camera with one which is SDHC compatible.

Problem getting HP Photosmart to recognize digital camera memory card

From what read of the specs, the C6100 does not support SDHC cards, only SD cards. SD cards top out at 2GB; what you have is technically an SDHC (High Capacity) card, which does not work in SD devices.
