My Vizio TV has the same problem. Changing the volume on the Cable Box has no effect. Turning off the TV's SRS TruVolume "feature" greatly reduces the hissing but means that the volume is radically different depending on each input.

Do you have a cable box connected to it? I'm sure you do .. You might have the TV or the cable box at max volume ..

If you are using the TV as the main volume control try to lower the volume from the cable box, maybe to mid volume.

If you are using the Cable box as the main volume try doing the opposite from the above..

Hope this helps.

I've had the Tonebone Plexitube since January of this year, but have only played through it a couple of times. I recently took it out to really experiment with it and get to know the pedal. Right away...

It sounds like somehow the pre-gain is very high while the volume or post-gain is very low. Try turning the volume high on the effects unit and the gain low, and don't have the amp volume too low either.

No Sound Issues

Hello!
Try the audio out. Run the audio to a receiver to see if the audio is there. If it is, then I'd leave it hooked up to the receiver and save yourself some money. If there is not any low level audio out then I'd fix the set. The only Sony set I've ever seen that was not worth fixing was a 32" model from the early 1990's that had bad picture tubes after only 5 years. I am a Sony factory trained tech. Good Luck!

Logitech x530 hissing noise

I had the same problem for the longest time with my set of Logitech 540 5.1 speakers. Turns out the solution was pretty simple. All I did was open the Master Volume controller and mute the Microphone. Hissing went to zero. Sound is great now.

DISTORTION

1) if you are using the PC sound card to record this is where your hiss is coming from. you need to get a recording card that has low noise or some other recording USB input device to get CD quality recordings

OR

2) if you have to use your PC sound card check your PC volume level for line in, don't let it get high or it will distort. you will have to experiment with the MD4 levels and PC sound card level to find a good middle ground with low hiss and no distortion
and a singer that sings away from the mic to reduce distortion.

hope this helps
