Hi I am having Nikon L100 since 2009. Problem: Nikon Coolpix L100 battery holder has some groves which are broken( due to wear and tear) which helps holding up the battery lid. Is there any way to fix the...

I'm affraid, only a new housing (or at least the part where the battery holder sits) should solve this problem.
There are 4 batteries pushing against the door so when the groves are broken out of the housing it will be difficult to glue anything in place. If it should be my camera, I should try to work with some glass fiber and a two-component adhesive. But not every material will accept glue.
If you never have worked with two-component adhesive don't start at all.

Which battery used in Nikon l 100 camera

The L100 uses four standard AA batteries. You can use disposable alkalines, disposable lithiums, or rechargeable NiMHs. If you use rechargeables, you'll have to charge them in a separate charger, not the camera itself.

I put new batteries into my nikon camer after I was alerted with the ''battery exhausted'' screen. It now won't turn on.

Make sure you are using rechargable batteries. Normal batteries are not strong enough. Try using either rechargable Lithium Ion batteries, or rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries. These are much stronger and should give you a good battery life.

Nikon L100 shows battery exhausted error message after installing new batteries. Unable to perform any operations on camera

That's the bug in Nokin L100, update the firmware version from 1.0 to 1.1, this will solve the battery exhaust problem. Firmware version 1.0 has only 2 battery (Alkaline and Lethium) option where as Firmware version 1.1 has Nickle battery also. But, to update the firmware you need to have EH-67 AC Adapter to give power to the camera.

Every time i put batteries in the nikon coolpix L100 it always says "batteries exhausted".

please consider the brand of batteries. these cameras use high-strength or industrial strength batteries. normal AA batteries cannot power it for a long time and the batteries may be waek to begin with.
