Hi!!
The clicking sound is a sign of a drained battery. Check your battery cables for loose or corroded terminals, if everything OK, jump start the vehicle and take it to an AutoZone, Checkers or similar auto parts store to have your Starting/Charging System checked. They perform this test free of charge.
Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!

More than likely it's a failed battery. You can get it tested at most auto parts stores. (Out of the vehicle) Or drive it to a shop and get the battery load tested, and get your charging system tested to insureit is re-charging your battery correctly.

You have an uncharged battery. You can try charging it. But it may just be bad and have to be replaced.

When i try to start the truck it just clicks

This could be caused by a faulty battery, you can try to jumpstart the vehicle. If it still simply clicks you likely need to replace or rebuild your starter. The clicking sound is caused when the plunger which completes the circuit in the solenoid engages. If it is worn from use it will not actually complete the circuit.

2001 Mustang GT. Motor shut down on quick acceleration. Won't restart. Traction control light lights up "Off" Making clicking noise. Doesn't reset when ignition switched off or battery...

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

You may just have system failure. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.

This thing really happens and reconnecting the positive battery connector serves like a jumpstart to the vehicle's PCM (powertrain control module).

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I WANT 2 KNOW IF ITS SAFE 2 JUMPSTART THE BATTERY ON MY 09 DODGE...I TRIED 2 START IT BUT IT JUST MAKES A CLICKING NOISE

Yes it is safe. If you dont know how to jump start a car correctly here are the basic steps 1) never let the ends touch when the cable is connected to battery.
2) on newer models such as your dodge make sure you connect the red cable to the negative BUT the black cable to a grounded metal on the car. A bar or the edge of the hood that has metal is great. Dont touch the metal!!!
3) once both cars are connected wait a lil bit and rev the engine on the car with power and try turning on your car right after.

My 2003 passat 4 cyl 1.8 wont start, buttery reads ok, all lights in dashboard are ok, tryed to jumpstart and won't start, what could I check or do?

If the car will not turn over and just clicks when you try to start, Then it is a dead cell in your battery. You will get good voltage and lights will work but you will not get the current you need to turn the starter.

Two days ago I noticed my battery was flat as I left the lights on. I recharged it last night and put it back in again today. I then pressed the lock button on my keyfob 5 times so that the key is...

That clicking is the starter trying to engage. Try jumpstarting the vehicle. Your battery may not have come back yet.... and you may need a new one. Try letting it run for a half hour or so after jumpstarting. If it starts immediately after shutting it off you're probably good to go. If it requires another jumpstart then you need a new battery.

Starting help

have you checked the battery and the cables?
put a wrench on the crank pulley, you should be able to turn it .that would rule out the engine is not seized.
a click like that can result from a bad connection on the battery.
jumpstart it being careful about polarity and put the ground on the engine, not the battery
