Oh, been there. All you need to do is make sure that the thread reel is placed inside the netting, and that the netting is tight enough. There is no actual tension control other then the net sleeve. If its gone loose, just stitch up one side to tighten it and all your probs will be solved.

In my Singer Futura CE250/CE350 manual, on page 38, there is a heading for "Straight Stitch With Auto Tie-Off Function."

It says:

1. Press the foot control and the machine will sew 4 stitches in forward and then 4 stitches in reverse and continue to sew in forward UNTIL the foot control is released.

2. Push the reverse switch and the machine will sew 4 stitches in reverse and then 4 stitches in forward and stop.

So, that would be a total of 8 stitches and makes me wonder:

Are you pressing the foot control and then RELEASING it?

Or, are you HOLDING the foot control down while you try to sew?

You must hold the control foot down while sewing.

Can a twin needle be used with the Futura ce-200?

If the needle plate and presser foot are wide enough to accommodate the double needle, then you can use it.

Make sure the needle position is center and the stitch type is straight stitch.

Hand walk the needle at couple of stitches to be absolutely sure all is clear.

Machine beeps and stops sewing, no error message displayed

sounds like not through the tension plate (on top) right... rethread and make sure you hold the thread taunt toward you as you putt through top tension... you should hear a slight click and some resistance...

New Singer Futura machine stops & tries to revert to overlock.

Sorry to say but it sounds to me that you need to take your machine in to be checked.

Top thread wrapping around hook under needle plate then jamming

Could be the needle is the incorrect size or the thread is not compatible with the embroidery or both. :)

Desgin stitch out on Futura 250

It sounds as though the design is stitching but the machine is skipping stitches. If this is the case, be sure you hoop the tear away in the hoop with your fabric.Make sure the fabric is taut. Use a new needle and a good quality thread. If this doesn't solve your problem, try the design on a different type of fabric.

Singer CE-100 Futura

Dear Nancy,
If you do not get any error message, and the proble does not depends on your procedure ( eg, you left straight stiches plate mounted, or check that is not set width to zero for the straight stitch etc. ) Then a serviceman need to reset the machine from a jumper on mainboard, or reinstalling firmware image.
If you are not in a hurry, you can also try posting the question on this website.
If is not a simple solution problem, and the machine is new , the best thing to do is calling service, as suggested by the Singer manual.

Regards
