Red LED usually means of not on. Green or white is usually on. Personally, I recommend one only buy Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba and Sony TV and not Korea or Chinese junk like LG or Sharp. In the old days you could still get a Mexican made Zenith but now it's all from Asia and Japanese and Taiwanese products are a dozen times better then chinkware garbage. I never trust HD from China. They are junk. Only trust products from Taiwan, Malaysia or Japan.

What do 2 blinks and a picture with no backlights?

Contact Sharp---almost all sets have a default code that can be used if old one lost or gone etc-----some makers use all 9's for this.

if it's blinking green, nothing is wrong. it's just cooling. if it's blinking red and the lamp is off, the lamp door is open.
