If you replace the battery, again, with another verified new battery, and if the watch still loses time, then it is possible that the watch mechanism needs cleaning or adjustment. I have not looked up the specifications for the movement for your model watch, so I do not know exact what is in it or where. There is usually a small lever in the mechanical part of the movement which can adjust the mechanical parts to run faster or slower.

Mcdevito75 here, Even a so called new battery could be weak, who knows how long it was in the store before being sold. Try another Battery from another store.

How do you know if a watch battery is fading. On some watches the second finger moves two seconds at a time but on one of my watches it is just losing time.

If it looses time and it has been like more than 2 or 3 yrs since replacing the battery it could be that the battery is loosing power. loosing time is a symptom of a fading battery power.

Watch loses time

If your watch is brand new, then the best course of action is to return it to where you purchased it. A modern quartz watch (even the really cheap ones) should not lose time at that rate. You paid good money and got a substandard watch - take it back.

My omega deville ladies prestige quartz is losing time. There is no second hand on the watch and the minute hand seems to tick every 10 secs or so. It has just had a new battery replaced by omega...

Yes. The minute hand ticking every 10 seconds is normal. Losing time is either battery or a movement malfunction. Only a trained watchmaker (or presumably Omega) can determine which. Take it back to Omega

Tag Heuer watch losing time

Make sure the voltage on the new battery is correct. Just because a battery is new does not mean it is good. That is likely the problem.

My Quartz sports watch works, loses time, had three months, .

Sounds like battery is failing. Time to replace it! :-) Sears stores usually have a watch repair counter...or find a reputable watch repair business. (Even if the watch is new...its still possible the battery could be failing because you have no way of knowing when it was originally installed! They typically last about 2-3 years depending on age and condition of watch!)

Good luck!

New watch is losing 5 to 15 minutes a day

This could be that the battery is slow. Newer swiss watches have a indicator in the movement of the watch that makes the sweep second hand skip every few seconds to indicate that the battery is slow. On regular japan made watches the watch just simply starts slowing down. Your watch could be new but the battery in it could have a long shelf life.
