Sx215 ink carrier will not stop at correct place to allow me to change black ink

Let it there where it has arrived by itself, unplug the printer from the mains, gently but firmly move the carrier to the correct position, change the ink cartridge and close everything.
When the printer will be plugged in and started the carriage will return to its normal position.

I am not able to get the ink cartridge to go to the centre of the printer in order to take it for replacement purposes

usually you have a button (according to printer's manual) that places the ink carriage to the correct position to replace the ink cartridges, or in print manager of your operating system, if not than you can cheat by powering on the printer and when the carriage unparks (move) power it off immediately before it goes back to the parking position, by pulling the power plug, than you can freely move the ink carriage by hand to the desired position to change the ink cartridge, once that is done you plug the printer back on....

Good luck!

Epson stylus sx200 refuses to acknowledge black ink bought direct from epson

I believe the DX series and the SX use the same system

# Determine which ink cartridges are not recognised.
# With the ink cartridge holder in the ink cartridge replacement position, lift up the ink cartridge holder lid and take the cartridge or cartridges out.
# Check that the cartridge is a genuine Epson ink cartridge - look for the EPSON branding and T0xxx codes on the cartridge labels.
# Check that the cartridges are correct for your Epson product.
# Wipe the green Intellidge Chip on the cartridge that is not recognised.
# Check the chip contacts within the ink cartridge holder for any debris or dried ink and wipe with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
# Check that the plastic at the bottom of the cartridge has been pierced.
# Check that the cartridges are in the correct slots.
# Reinstall the cartridges into the ink cartridge holder in the correct order.
# Push the ink cartridge down firmly. It should click into place.
# Repeat this for any ink cartridges that were removed.
# Push the ink cartridge holder lid down. It should clip into place and be secure.
# Press the Stop button, this will return the ink cartridge holder to the right hand side of the unit.
# If the error light flashes after the print head returns to the home position, the ink cartridge may not be installed properly.
# If the red light is no longer displayed, but Status Monitor still reports a Non-Genuine Ink warning.
# If the red light is still on the printer, and Status Monitor indicates that an ink cartridge is not recognised, follow the steps below.
# If the problem remains, there may be a fault with the ink cartridge.

Unable to print 30

Several conditions may cause the error message Machine Error 30, 33, 34 or 35 to be displayed on the LCD. This error may be the result of one of the following:
  • The print head carriage is failing to return to its home position to the far right of the unit.
  • Both of the springs located on each side of the carriage is out of place.
  • The cartridge covers may not be locked securely in place.
Please follow the instructions listed below to correct this problem:
  1. Press the INK button on the Control Panel.
  2. Using the dial pad, press 2 (Replace Ink). The display will prompt you PLS OPEN COVER.
  3. Pull the Scanner Cover release lever located under the Control Panel and lift the Scanner cover. The carriage should move to the left in order to replace the ink. If the carriage does not move to the left, your machine will require service.
If your machine is still within warranty, click here to locate a Brother Authorized Service Center in your area or click here to obtain contact information for the appropriate Brother Customer Service Center. If you are out of warranty, use the link to locate a Brother Authorized Service Center in your area.
  4. After the carriage moves to the left, press down each cartridge cover and remove all ink cartridges from the machine. There are 2 springs located on each side of the carriage that hold the print head against the carriage assembly. They are thin silver springs approximately 2 1/2 inches, set at an angle.
  5. If the spring is out of place, press the spring back into place. You can use the spring on the opposite side of the carriage as a guide as to the correct position.
  6. If the spring is not out of place, reinstall each ink cartridge.
  7. After installing the ink cartridges, close the covers and verify they are securely locked into place. Your machine then prepares for a head cleaning and goes online. The LCD screen prompts you to verify if a new ink cartridge was inserted for each color you removed. For example, DID YOU CHANGE BLCK 1. YES 2. NO.
  8. Press 2 (No).
Note If you decided to place a new ink cartridge in for any of the colors when uninstalling and reinstalling the cartridges in the above process, press 1 (Yes). The machine will automatically go through a cleaning cycle.

Also this might be handy for you. To reset purge counter

2) Press the 8 then 0 keys in the initial stage of the maintenance mode to call up the machine’s log information list (function code 80).
3) Press the Black Start key several times to scroll through the log information list to reach the purge counter. The purge counter is the 25th item in the list.

Changed the ink cartridges but the colour wrong

Check the ink wells are installed in correct order. Next, do a nozzle check (same place as the cleaning). This will have you print a pattern and ask you if it looks normal. If yes, you are good to go. If not, you may need to align the print heads. This can also be done in the same place as the print cleaning and nozzle check. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. Next step is print head replacment.

My Epson SX 100 is low on the three colours but when I open the top to get to the Cartridge Bay, the cartridges are not stopped on the right place for me to change them with new ones. They are stopped on...

Have you pressed the ink button to move the ink carriage to the correct position? Press the ink button to indicate each empty cartridge and then move it into the replacement position.

If it doesnt move you could always turn the printer on and as the carriage moves across pull out the cable or switch off at the wall socket. The carriage can now be pushed into the correct position. Push it back fully to the right before turning back on.

Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.
