There are two ways for install the Scanner
using only "the driver" and using "HP Photosmart Studio Includes
Support for Mac OS X v10.3, v10.4 and v10.5 (Leopard)" using the driver
not include IRIS OCR software only the driver to scan and thats why say
"An OCR error ocurred, couldn't create file". Installing the HP
Photosmart Studio fix the problem.

If you're using Vista, this happens all too regularly with HP printers. I've had a few where I have to uninstall everything then re-install to make things work.
Two weeks later the same thing, same process.
Try downloading latest drivers from HP and see if that helps. HP don't admit there's a problem.
Don't seem to have this problem with Epson printers tho.

Hi,
According
to your problem first reinstall the Mac version of the scanner driver. If you
get the same error after reinstalling driver then try to scan a document and
print from scanner without PC access. If you can't do this then follow the
roller of the scanner. If the light or the roller not moving properly then contact
nearest service center. You may need to replace the roller.
