2980wxranger when its on for 30 min the rec ever channel sound like bleedover

HI,
I would guess that you have a bad audio chip or a bad component in the audio circuit ( most likely the chip ). I am assuming, from your discription that the sound is muffled? If you are infact getting bleedover from other channels, you may have a bad crystal or a bad PLL Chip. I hope this has helped.

I have a K r e l l K A V 3 0 0 I get heavy distortion coming from LEFT channel ...After about 30 mins the distortion seems to clear ...it seems only from switching on from cold to 30 mins

This sounds like the either the output transistors breaking down or the electrolytic capacitors on that channel.

Tv has sound on all channels but one. Had sound but 30 min later no sound. When watching two tv's on same channel the one with no sound was lagging behind other tv not in sync as all other tv's in house...

Check to see if your audio source is set to SAP. This stands for secondary audio program. For example, some stations broadcast english and spanish. Some stations broadcast english and nothing. If you are on a channel that broadcasts english and nothing, and you are SAP setting, you will hear nothing.

How many total watts does this system have

Well... It consumes 240 watts of electrical power total so take the audio power specifications with a huge grain of salt, as no audio device puts out in audio power anywhere near what it consumes in electrical power. Heat produced is power consumed, too and nothing is 100% efficient.

In the specs below the only information useful for comparison is in the line I highlighted with >>> <<<<'s as it conforms the closest to the industry standard practice of using:

"X watts into 8 ohms (standard load) from 20 - 20000 hz plus or minus Y db at no more than .0Z% distortion"

The better amps specify vanishingly low distortion specs (0.0x% vs 0.x%) at the cost of being able to claim higher wattage. But they guarantee cleaner sound at the claimed levels.

JVC is being tricky with their choice of a 40 hz lower limit. THAT is the power hungry end of the spectrum. 20 hz is normally the lower limit stated.

"Output Power .............At Stereo operation
Front channels .............55 watts per channel, min. RMS, driven into 4 ohms at 1 kHz, with no more than 0.9 % total harmonic distortion. (IEC268-3/DIN) 30 watts per channel, min. RMS, driven into 8 ohms at 1 kHz, with no more than 0.9 % total harmonic distortion. (IEC268-3/DIN)

>>>>> 30 watts per channel, min. RMS, driven into 8 ohms, 40 Hz to 20 kHz, with no more than 0.8 % total harmonic distortion. <<<<<

At Surround operation
Front channels .............50 watts per channel, min. RMS, driven into 8 ohms at 1 kHz, with no more than 0.8 % total harmonic distortion.

Center channel .............50 watts, min. RMS, driven into 8 ohms at 1 kHz, with no more than 0.8 % total harmonic distortion.

Rear channel .................50 watts, min. RMS, driven into 8 ohms at 1kHz, with no more than 0.8 % total harmonic distortion."

I have a sony projection tv and the picture and sound are there, the cable feed is good, but the picture has a lot of static. Almost like a weak connection.

Check the input channel is 3 or 4 if you are using an external receiver, satellite or cable. If it is set on 4 and the input receiver is 3 then you will have adjacent channel "bleedover". make sure the two units are set on the same channel.

Right speaker goes off when using Rec out on the Phono input

The switch is contaminated. Pick up some electronic switch cleaner and spray into the switch. Move the switch back and forth a number of times and that should clear up the problem. Make sure that you get the cleaner that has a lubricant included.
