HERE IS THE RESOLUTION

To turn the WLAN wireless card on and off, use the FN + F2 keys. The F2 key has an icon on it that looks like a large radio transmitter tower. Pressing the FN+F2 keys again will reverse the state of the WLAN card. There is a green LED (with the same transmission tower picture) at the right edge of the keyboard that will illuminate when the WLAN card is on. This WLAN status LED is located to the right of the "Home, End" key.

    This did not work

  • Anonymous Oct 04, 2010

I also have this problem. My Systemax laptop does not have the F2 button, but it does have a separate button to turn the WLAN card on. However this stopped working yesterday, and after 16 hours of trying to turn it on manually, I am at the end of my tether. I think the laptop might go flying through the window soon. Can anybody help? Is there a way to turn on the WLAN card bypassing the actual button, as this seems to have ceased to register anything. There surely must be a way.

check in the bios whether the WLAN is enable or disable, you can also check in he device manager about the network card driver installed properly or not. do the router setting manually

Turning on wireless

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look onboth sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can togglethe wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN functionkey located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit willhave the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a towerwith the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will displayWireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.
On some laptops there will be a button just above the keyboard or on the side or in front of the laptop..
