Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies

Sharp AL series copier printer shows paper jam no jam how to reset

Most of the time when I see this problem in the field it is caused by a bent or broken fuser gate. The gate is behind the right side door and is shown in the picture. What happens is at the rear side there is a little tab that sticks out. You can see it in the picture at the far end. That little tab trips a photo sensor. If this bar gets bent or broken then that tab does not go in far enough to trip the sensor and the machine will show a jam all the time. Normally you can fix this by opening this "gate" with the little lever shown at the front end of the picture. Then twist the plastic by pushing the sensor tab at the far end in towards the sensor hole. What you are trying to do is get that sensor tab to go farther into the sensor hole so as to trip the sensor. Once it moves farther in just shut the right side door back and see if the jam is reset. In rare cases this gate must be replaced. They are available from Precisionroller.com

ERROR MESSAGE: COVER IS OPEN AS SHOWN. CLOSE COVER. IT IS SHOWING IN THE PICTURE A VIEW ON THE RIGHT SIDE BOTTOM TRAY.

Hello!
Make sure that all off the covers and doors are properly closed.
If you are sure that everything is closed you probably have a faulty switch or a broken gate in the bottom tray.
See you!

i have copier ir 400s sir i am getting error when i started the machine the error is E014 thank you

This is an indication that the fuser ( hot rollers on left side of copier ) are not turning. This could be caused by several things. Try turning the green knob behind front door. Does it move smoothly? If it doesn't then remove the left side fuser door and remove the fuser assembly. The bearings for the upper and lower rollers could be bad. If the fuser moves easily, then it could be a white gear that is located on the upper right of the fuser assembly. This is the drive gear for the fuser. The gear tends to wear out over time and has to be replaced. This should get you in the right direction to solve the problem.

"See instructions in right cover

If you are shore that there is no paper on the machine you probably have a problem with a sensor.
I saw sometimes a broken gate in the fuser unit that causes this symptom.
Try to look at the fuser unit, you will see a blue plastic gate, in front of that there is a black one that sometimes breaks and the sensor not work properly.
If this is the case you have to change that gate. In any cases i advise you to call your provider to solve that.
Hope you understand it

my printer keeps jamming. I have replaced the

The most common cause for jamming every copy on this model is a broken fuser drive gear. If you open the right side door you have a gate that flips open with a bunch of "teeth" on it. This gate is part of the fusing unit. If the paper always stops in this area when entering the fuser it is a broken drive gear. Your Xerox is made by Sharp. The part number for the gear is NGERH0540FCZ3
Perhaps you can find a local repair person who can replace it for you.
Good Luck
