Sansa Clip says it's connected and my computer beeps when the Sansa is plugged in but it is not found under "My Computer". Windows tries to find the MTP device drivers but doesn't. WHen I switch the Sansa to USB mode, Windows responds with a "Unknown USB device". 1. Please make sure that you have installed the right driver in your pc. If not. then, go download from here.
2.Connect the Sandisk Sansa at the back of your pc. The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full. If the player does not turn on try using other USB ports or use another usb cable.

try messing with the usb settings on the mp3 player in settings/ system settings/ USB mode/ for a newer PC try MSC for an Older PC or mac try Mtp and if that dosen't work try auto detect just mess around with it fir a while
Check My Computer. If the PC recognises the Sansa player then simply add the songs by dragging the files into the player's icon on My Computer. Sometimes this kick starts the built in software included on the mp3 player.
You do not need special software - it acts like an external drive. Just drag the files to the proper folders on the Sansa or use Windows Media Player to create playlists and sync your player to WMP. Then everytime you update your playlists, your player will be updated when you connect again.
The larger Sansa's like my 8 GIG has software for converting video to play on it, but the screen is too small - you will go cross-eyed trying to watch a movie.
And the best place to get these things is on Woot.com. I paid $10 for my 1 GIG clip! Yee - Haww!
Hi, just had the same problem after restoring my system.
You must disconnect and update your Windows Media Player to Number 11. My reinstall left me at WMP 9 and it wouldn't recognise my Clip. Go to the Windows website, follow the download instructions, and you should be fine. When you plug in the Sansa Clip or MP3, it should recognise it right away. Hope this helps!
While the player is connected to the computer, you will not be able to go through the menu, play music, etc. Only after you have disconnected it from the PC will it work.
Unplug your Sansa. Uninstall all the Sansa software from your computer, and reinstall the clean version from the Sandisk website. Then, replug the Sansa.
