The standard sizes represent what is available in terms of the measurment from the door jamb plate and the center of the lever hardware. Your release handle will not operate correctly, both deadbolt and passage lock.

It sounds, however that you are referring to the distance between two items. The height of the deadbolt in reference to the door handle is not critical. It is dictated by looks, more than function.

How do I fix a Schlage deadbolt. B60 series will not unlock from the inside unless the key is inserted from the outside

With the door open, remove the interior trim (thumb turn) from the door, and using the key, turn the deadbolt to the locked position. Now re-install the thumb turn, in the locked position, and with the key removed see if you are able to unlock the deadbolt. I suspect that the tailpiece (part that sticks out of the lock cylinder and into the thumb turn) is not in the correct position.

Need a video how to program my keyless entry deadbolt lock

Which manufacturer made the keyless deadbolt lock? Make sure that the batteries are good in the unit.

I have an older Weiser Powerbolt deadbolt lock that is programmed by taking off the cover on the inside of the door. This model has handheld remotes and the keypad. Inside there are three yellow buttons. Two match the cover's lock and unlock buttons. Press and hold the third button (in the center of the set of buttons). Then enter program in the code within a few seconds and press the enter button to set the code. If the unit beeps again, the code is set. If the unit doesn't beep, retry from the press and hold the Program button step.

Another model of the Weiser Powerbolt lock has the Program button either on the top left or lower right hand side of the board (depending on the way the door opens) under the cover. Press the Program button once and then enter the 4-8 digit code. Press the Lock button to set the code. If you hear a long beep, the code was accepted; otherwise try to program your code again.

Kwikset Powerbolt locks are programmed the same way as the second Weiser Powerbolt described above.

Kwikset SmartCode locks have their Program button in the center of the bottom of the control board. Otherwise the programming is the same as that given above for the second version of Weiser Powerbolt locks.

MiLocks have three buttons in a horizontal line. The left-most button is the Set button. Press this then enter the code followed by the Unlock button. The code must be entered within 5 seconds of pressing set.

Baldwin Hardware's Boulder series of keyless entry deadbolts are programmed just like the Kwikset SmartCode units.

I don't know of any videos. Most manufacturers do have PDF files with the programming instructions.

I hope this helps. Please add more information about your deadbolt for extra assistance.

(I end up replacing the batteries often on the lock I have; it seems like they last 6 months or less.)

I am trying to replace brass Schlage deadbolt locks with black. I need to adjust the deadbolt from 2 3/8 to 2 3/4 before I install the deadbolt. I can not get the deadbolt to turn in the groove.

Home Depot has a template and tool that will make the hole bigger, it comes with everything you need except a drill. I think its around $20. It clamps on to the door and has the holes alighned to be drilled. Good luck. remember, it is important to get the holes centered!

Remove, lubricate with a dry silicone or graphite lubricant and reinstall. The mounting bolts may have loosened up, and now it is not perfectly lined up. More likely is some corrossion or wear in the throw mechanism.

2000 dodge dakota door panel

There are five screws to be removed, two of which are Torx bit. One is in the center of the door panel towards the top. One is behind the door latch handle. One adjacent to the side view mirror, and two along the bottom. There is an access panel along side the door latch handle you need to pop off with a screw driver. It is triangular in shape and about 5 inches long. Once that is removed you will see the door latch linkage to latch handle. Disconnect the linkage by unsnapping the plastic retainer off of the linkag rod and swing it so the rod can be lifted out of the hole. The window crank handle is a *****, you will need a dentist's pick or similar to remove a retaining clip just behind the handle but in front of the panel. The it is just an upward and outward movement on the panel and it should come right out.

Baldwin 6321 mortise:when locked can open from either side

It sounds as if the lock is installed backwards or more specifically in inside mechanism. The inside lever/handle when turned should retract the deadbolt (safety feature). If yours does not currently switch around.
