Hi I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo pi1505. I cannot connect to any network via the LAN connector. Also the wireless LAN which used to work has suddenly stopped working. I went into the BIOS setup and fiddled a bit and hey presto suddenly both started working. The next day I am back to square one. They do not work again, Any Ideas? Dave

Whenever you can't connect to a network it is rarely the computer that is at fault, especially if it has been working.

Step 1, however, is to turn off your modem, router, and computer for 10 to 30 seconds, then turn on the modem and router (often the same unit), then the computer. If the computer is connected to an Ethernet cable, make sure you see lights on both ends of the cable, on the router and on the computer, if not, unplug and re-seat the plugs.

Step 2, If step 1 did not resolve the problem, bring up your command line on the computer. In Windows, click start and type cmd then hit the enter key or Win+R, type cmd and hit the enter key... this will bring up a command line tool. In Linux, find the terminal app.

Step 3, in the command line tool, type: ipconfig (ifconfig if you are using an Apple or Linux product) and hit the enter key.
You will be presented with a list of items, look for your IPV4 IP Address. Your IP address should look something like 192.168.0.048. If the first number is 169 you are not connected to any network. Look for a default gateway and write down that IP address (usually 192.168.0.1, but could be something like 10.10.0.1)

Step 4, type the command ping 192.168.0.1 (use your gateway address). If you get replies back from that, you are able to talk to your router.

Step 5, type the command ping google.com. If you get no replies back, your internet service provider is most likely down, and you should call them. It could also be that your DNS server is not properly configured in your network settings, but if your computer WAS working, it should still be OK.

Step 6, If none of the above solves your problem surfing the web with a browser, then your browser may have been hijacked, you will want to run a couple of good anti-malware utilities to find out. I use two to solve most problems: HitManPro (www.hitman.com) and MalwareBytes (malwarebytes.org)

However my connection stopped a couple of days ago and my quick lauch keys have stoped working. All of them. I can only assume that the keys are broken/disconnected and because of this wireless will not work. i to have tried suggestions but the network connections box says that is connected and i know it not. Is there any other way round this or does anyone know how to fix the keys?

SOURCE: fujitsu siemens amilo pro keyboard replacement

Hi is that you want to replace the existing keyboard from your mom's laptop ? if so right above the keyboard you will find a removable plastic panel (it is fragile breaks very easily so be carefull ) which would secured in place with snap on plastic locks or 3 screws would be securing it in place which you can see on the rear of the laptop , if the battery compartment is under the top portion then remove the battery you can see these screws . In any case please take your OWN TIME TO ANALYZE and only then attempt this. If you are succesfull in doing this then remove the other screws visible that holds the KB in place and lift up the KB slowly because the connecting cable is flexible PCB and you could easily TEAR IT OFF if you pull hard . The Connector also needs lot of attention - very thin and small release the side catches by lifting it with a watch screw driver very slowly else you will end up breaking it . If you have come to this stage GREAT replacing KB is reverse of all this procedure.

Try downloading the automatic driver update tool from the website.
This should normally fix this problem by updating all drivers.

Fujitsu Amilo Pro Notebook 2010 For some reason although finding my wireless network will not connect and is not asking for network key. Any ideas?

Hi Charles,

Try turning off your wireless router and modem for 2 minutes and then turn them back on. Wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down and try connecting to the internet again.

If this does not work you may have to reinstall the drivers for the wireless card in your laptop.

Connection to wireless

There is any wireless adapter showing in the control panel.
According to the laptop specs, this laptop did not come with wireless capability. You need to purchase a wireless notebook adapter for it or us it with a network cable.
See the specs on this link:

Laptop chargers

Probably you damaged the motherboard with an incompatible charger, You are very likely to need to have it replaced and to buy a fujitsu spare charger or at least an aftermarket compatible one...the charger might have broke instead because of overheating caused by the higher load, but cannot be sure about it because you didn't post full specs.
