Pixels change when I start computer

When I start my computer each day, the pixels will change to 640 by 480. I use 800 by 600 normally. It starts normally, then the screen will go blank for a few seconds, and then it goes to 640 by 480 pixels. I have to right click on my desktop, and reset settings back to 800 by 600 pixels. This just started about three days ago. I ran my anti-spyware, and anti-virus programs, and they found nothing. Could you please help? Thank You.

Dell m170 pixelated screen on start up will only boot up safemode

The video card could be going out, this happens alot where i work. Are the pixels that are out always in the same spot or does it change as you navigate around windows?

If the pixels are always in the exact same place, its the LCD, If not, its the video card.

Be sure to have the proper drivers, get any updates from www.support.dell.com. select the model number or enter the TAG number off the back or do search for DELL M 170 or Latitude M170 or whatever model it is.

Try this out and if no go, then get back to me.

Good luck
