The beeping sound is the post system searching for your hard drive and other connected devices

Thank you for using FixYa

I would try shutting down the computer in the normal way, and turning off the monitor.
Boot up and turn the monitor back on.
If it still doesn't work, then I would check the cables and power plugs and wall plugs.
Check the mouse and keyboard cable and any other cables plugged into the computer.
The next step requires a seperate monitor or laptop.
Try unplugging the monitor and pluging in another monitor. Most laptops have a common
VGA adaptor jack or even an Svideo jack.
If the other monitor does not work, Then take to a qualified technician for repair.
It could be your power supply in the computer or video controller.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

I doubt you will be able to do it , the hard disk inside it got damaged. But you have nothing to lose trying: take out the hard disk and install it directly in an desktop - if it's still working then it will appear in Computer - open and copy your files from there.

Has anything changed since it was working last? check that first
Next -- the Beep codes indicate a hardware problem --the PC was unable to POST(Power On Self Test-)-but DELL's beep codes closest to what you described is either 1-2-video card not detected or 1-3-1-1 which is Memory (RAM) error adn the PHEONIX beep code of 1-3-2 is Memory error also-- so be sure all cards and chips are seated properly--I dont think its the hardrive --a PC can still boot and POST without a hardrive.

Ok it still sounds like an fan. look for fans, one in power supply, one on cpu, one in case(frount or back), one on video card. before you start from cold unplug the fans that you can. and stop the one in power supply. then if there is no nosie you have to start pluging them back in till you hear the noise. **NOTE!!** don't run it long without fans!!( 40 secs) is long enough..

Sr.1320nx will not start. makes a beeping noise.

could be a memory failure or a hardrive failure remove every thing pluged into back liek keyboards cameras printers mouses and try turn it on, try run a dinostic cd you might have it with your pc and it will tell you what problem is, or it could even be a hard drive failure. you can try removing memory dimms one at time and each time try to start it up.
