One day we were watching TV and we heard a POP!. All of the sudden we get no picture with sound . Best Buy says we need a Y and Z sustain board. 1200 bucks to repair including parts and labor.   Its cheaper to get a new TV.

Hi there, now my hp compaq nc 8000 has one pink line on the screen. But when I try to change my desktop background into black color it disappear but it is not helping at all. when i put the other color in...

the screen is bad, use and external monitor on the rear VGA jack. the line may be gone there, proving bad internal screen.
twist the local screen frame gentle, see line go away or gain more?
yes, bad screens.
this lap top is 12 years old,
use external for the remainder of its life? or upgrade.?
most of these, the back lamps burn out, CCFL lamp tubes.
yours working after 12 years at all is a miracle. really.
most CCFL turn dim, yellow, blink or dead long before now...

I say bad screen but tiny possible loose cable iniside
if others messed around with that cable before, (unsecured)

P42W46X Zenith Plasma - No Picture - Mostly Yellow on screen

Mine looks like too, but the line running across isn't on my set, picture looks like this, and the sound works fine. I took the tuner board all the way out and turned the set on and it did the same thing, then I unplugged the top wire on the board next to the tuner board and the screen went black. plugged it back in and the screen came back with the scrambled picture. Anyone know why? Bad mainboard maybe? the left of the tuner board?

Tv lost color

Your problem most likely is on the signal board is my guess. If your not a technician it would be in your best interest to have him check L2C60 on the signal board.
