The screen says there is no signal. The fault should be either with signal cable of the signal device, Just tune in the TV to a local station, If you can see a picture there, there is no fault to the TV, Check the connections.
I believe the TV screen will need to be replaced if you don't want to see the damage mark anymore. I suggest you find a TV repair business authorized to repair your make of TV.
Personal opinion: I hope your children will be able to come up with the money to pay for the TV screen replacement.
The tv LCD screen panel itself it is dead,by force.Sorry,no not repairable.Only way to repair this tv,it is to replaced the whole LCD screen panel itself, not practical or possible because the LCD screen panel it is mission impossible to buy as a refurbish items, only can buy it from tvs manifacture itself only, but it 90% important to the tv and it functions and it is very limited production items,so they'll sell it to u,but the cost it is the same as a new tv.Buy a brand new tv it pretty cheap these day at Walmart stores.Tries buy another tv same make and model as ur old tv.Save the dead broken LCD screen panel old tv somewhere for later years,as refurbishes electronic PCB boards for ur new tv later uses.
This is a defective LCD display panel. It will cost as much as a new set unless your still within the 1 year warranty. As far as cleaning the screen, you can use an old t-shirt by spraying a little windex on the shirt and wiping gently up and down or left to right but never in a circular pattern. I found it best to do this after the set has been on for 15 minutes to warm up the surface then shut the set off and give a clean.
If really the screen is damaged (not not just the covering glass), you most probably won't be able to get a new screen. Maybe buying some other TV of the same model... Otherwise only service can order the screen and replace it.. But screens are the most expensive part of LCD TV, so it probably won't be good option. In any way, get the TV to the service for look and price estimation. Then decide if you want to repair it or buy a new model.
This is an LCD screen and they probably damaged the panel itself. So I would sell the tv for parts on ebay or craigslist and recoup some of the lose as all the other parts are still good and someone out there will have the same tv with something else broken. Use that money to buy a new tv. That is why I like old tube tv's. Takes a lot more then a toy hitting the screen to take them out. Good luck, Lee
It would be better to buy a new one, the cost of the panel is a little bit lower than a new TV, but you have to take into consideration the tech to swaap the panel.
This is indicative of a cracked PDP panel (the plasma panel itself). Even though there may not be impact damage on the outside (the filter), it has probably cracked the inner layers. Unfortunately, it is probably more expensive to fix than to replace the entire unit.
