Machine does not maintain correct date and time.

When turned off at night, incorrect date and time will be displayed when powered on twelve hours later.

  • katie56 Oct 20, 2008

    The clock on my machine is displaying a date and time from over a year ago...I require two terminals to complete my work and therefore have a toggle switch connected to both computers and fax machine.

    Could anyone tell me how to reset the clock or could the toggle switch be the problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Are you powering it off by the power button on the unit? is the power button a rocker switch or a simple button? also are you powering it off by a power strip? Most electronic devices have a clock circuit that is powered from a battery when the unit is off. usually with modern electronics the power never completely goes off so the clock will stay functioning with less battery. Basically you either have a simple internal battery issue or a failing logic board. Try not using a power strip to power the unit off or take it in to be serviced by a qualified technician that has access to the parts needed.

How do I change the time on the Brother 2820 fax?

This was taken directly from the Brother 2820 Manual:

Setting the Time

When the machine is not in use it will display the date and time. If you set up the Station ID the date and time displayed by your machine will be printed on every fax you send. If there is a power failure, you may have to reset the date and time. No other settings will be affected.

1 Press Menu/Set, 0, 2.
[2. Date/Time]
2 Enter the last two digits of the year.
Press Menu/Set.
3 Enter two digits for the month.
Press Menu/Set.
(For example, enter 09 for September,
or 10 for October.)
4 Enter two digits for the day.
Press Menu/Set.
(For example, enter 06 for 6th.)
5 Enter the time in 24-Hour format.
Press Menu/Set.
(For example, enter 15:25 for 3:25 P.M.)
6 Press Stop/Exit.
The LCD now shows the date and time
whenever the machine is idle in Fax
mode.
When the machine is in Sleep mode, the
LCD shows Sleep. (See Sleep Time on
page 2-8.)

Turning on Automatic Daylight Savings Time

You can set the machine to change automatically for Daylight Savings Time. It will reset itself forward one hour in the Spring and backward one hour in the Fall. Make sure you have set the correct date and time in the Date/Time setting.

1 Press Menu/Set, 1, 5.
[5. Auto Daylight]

Please can you tell me how to change time and date. thank you. Wendy

The current time and date are shown on the display when the machine is on and ready for use (standby mode). The time and date are printed on all faxes you send.
Note: If power to the machine is cut off for over 30 minutes, when power is restored, the machine prompts you to reset the time and date.
1. Press Setup. The display shows the first setup menu; FAX NUMBER/NAME.
2. Press left arrow or right arrow until 'TIME/DATE SETUP' appears, then press
Start/Enter. The display asks you to choose a date format.
3. Press Start/Enter.
4. Press left arrow or right arrow until you find the desired date format, then press
Start/Enter.
If you select USA, the time and date appears in the order of month, day, then year. The EUROPE format will be displayed in the order of day, month, then year.
The display shows the currently set time and date using the selected date format.
5. Enter the correct time and date using the number keypad.
Day = 01~31
Month = 01~12
Year = four digits
Hour = 00~23
Minute = 00~59
You can also use left arrow or right arrow to move the cursor under the digit you want
to correct, then enter a new number.
6. Press Start/Enter when the time and date on the display is correct. If you enter an invalid number, the machine beeps and does not proceed to the next step. If this happens, just reenter the correct number.
The display shows the time and date you have set, then returns to
Standby mode.

How do I change the "day of the week" on my Tommy Bahama 1072 watch?

But the first notch, or first snap, is the secret and the key to setting the Day and Date! In the first notch position, you'll see that if you spin the Crown one way, it will change the Day. Spin it in the opposite direction and it changes the Date! Do keep in mind that you may have to spin the Day and Date a couple rotations because it most likely will alternate between English and Spanish. Just pick the correct Language for you and it's done! When the Day and Date are set, push the Stem in all the way and enjoy your Watch! If you still have the problem with your Watch changing Dates at Noon instead of Midnight, that just means you're on the wrong 12 hr cycle. (It's set for Twelve at Night instead of Twelve at Noon) All you need to do is pull the Stem all the way out, (second notch) and Spin the Minute and Hour hands ahead 12 hours. If it's Twelve O'Clock, spin it ahead until it's Twelve O'Clock again. Doing that will put the Watch on the correct 12 hour cycle. Granted, you may have to reset your Day and Date again since you just advanced it, but at least you'll be in the correct Time Zone! Happy Spinning! google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);
