Firmware update samsung blu ray disc player firmware update was purchased on 12-27-06. New movies aren't able to play due to latest firmware. How can I update my Blu ray player with the lates firmware?

If it plays other Blue Ray discs OK then either the disc is faulty or it is the wrong region. If it previously played, then my bet is that the disc has a scratch or dirt on it. If you have another blue-ray player or you have a friend with one try it on that or theirs.

it seems that samsung is posting it's firm updates online @ samsung.com i had same problem with my BD-UP5000 its connected to the internet when i go to the menue to update on the bluray player it said i had the latest update went online and found a new firmware on there web site, check samsung web site

Firmware update did you do the latest one?

Is the Firmware going thru completly What version do you have for the UP5000?

You can download the upgrade from the Samsung site. There are instructions for the entire process as well. Please note that you will need to create an ISO CD for the upgrade.

Are you able to play other discs on your player? Did you get your discs from a reputable distributor? and not at a flee market? Could be that your discs aren't giving the proper signals.
