to resolve. Please download "SoundStation2W Software Upgrade" from the Product Support page
of our website and follow the included instructions. If you need any

The upgrade completed successfully but the problem remained in that the phone would not register with the base. I called the number provided by James (voipsupport post) and was very satisfied by Polycom's response. They said this is a known issue and if the software upgrade does not resolve the problem and the user has done all the possible troubleshooting, they will replace the phone and base for free. They said it is a hardware issue - faulty flash memory. The software loads but does not really write to the device. Their offer to replace a unit that is over a year out of warranty is is excellent customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend Polycom.
