Once the "BUCKET FULL" illuminate on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, soon after your appliance will shut down. Then you may remove the bucket by pressing the sides gently to unclip it and empty the collected water. After you reinstall the bucket, the float switch will reset. Hope this helps! - Z

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it from the wall. Remove the bucket and empty any water that may be in it. Then, look at the top of the bucket for a float valve control. It slides from left to right, depending on whether you want it to shut off at half full or three quarters full. Slide the float left until it snaps for 3/4 full or all the way to the right until it snaps for 1/2 full. The bucket must be properly aligned for the float to work.

In your case, the float may have moved to the middle. Or the bucket is not squarely into it's holder, from top to bottom.

Troubleshooting the above should solve the problem.

Actually, it's probably doing what it should. Let me explain: Dehumidifiers run until they have lowered the humidity/moisture level to where you have the humidity extraction level set. At that point, the unit shuts OFF, until senses the humidity level has risen above where you set the level and it turns ON again. That doesn't mean the bucket will always be full when it shuts OFF. It may turn ON & OFF many times before the bucket is full. Watch for the Bucket Full Light to illuminate. That's when the bucket is FULL and needs to be emptied.

If you want it to shut OFF before the tank is totally full, slide the float cup forward. if you want it to fill completely before shutting OFF, slide the float cup backward. Some folks prefer the half full, because the bucket is not as heavy to remove and empty, as it is when it's full.
