It is .5 ohm stable but will heat up in .5 ohm so make shure there is lots of ventilation at 1 ohm it will not heat up very much but will still need venting they really kick and control the speaker very well (no or little distortion ) even in low ohms you will need lots of current for them in single channel mode at 4 ohm its 120w 2 ohm its 240 and 1 ohm its 480 and .5 its just under a kilo watt at .5 you will need 40amps of current i have 6 of these amps as a system and i am upgrading to mcintosh amps as there are few amps better than the hk ca 260s you will love this amp

Can I wire 2 dual 2ohm subwoofers to a 1ohm load and yes my amp is 1ohm stable I want to get the max rms from my amp

King Chambers,

It would be optimal to have subwoofers that are Dual 4 Ohm. However I am going to tell you the most optimal way to hook up the combination you have to extract the most power out of your amplifier.

You will need to wire each subwoofer in series by taking the positive from one coil on the subwoofer and connecting it to the other voice coil on the same subwoofer; then take the left over positive and negative and hook that to your amplifier.

You will do the same with the other subwoofer. This will give you a 2 ohm load. If you had dual 4 ohm coils then we could get you down to a 1 ohm load.

Can i run my amp at 1ohm and how

You should look your amp up online to see if it can handle 1 ohm stable....most can't. Lower ohmage does make the bass hit harder but can heat your amp up pretty gd....if your amp can handle it you may want to get a capacitor if you don't already have one.

I have 2 kicker cvr 15 4ohm dvcs and a performance teknique ICBM power 4000 watt 1ohm stable amp when I hook up my speakers 1 ohm it kicks my amp into protect when I wire it at 4 ohms it works fine how do...

Are your subwoofers wired in series or parallel? Check your connections, if everything is ok, the problem is with your amplifier. It might have a blown capacitor inside or its not really a 1ohm stable amplifier. Have it repaired if thats the case.

Safe light is on, on my Boston Acoustics GT-28

its not grounded properly or the subs are not properly wired so make sure you ground wire is screwed to metal not a painted part of the car second check your sub wiring and make sure the subs are not wired at 1ohm if your amp is not 1ohm stable.

ONE OHM STABLE 2500W MAX POWER AMP DIAGRAM ON 2

For a 1ohm load it's positive to positive and negative to negative run 1 wire from one speaker to the other. Positive to positive neg to neg. Then 1 wire from the speakers to the amp. The amp will have + - + - on it's inputs for left and right speakers (if stereo) Use the outside positive and outside negative. If there are any switches on the amp that say "mono" "stereo" switch to "mono". Hope this helps

Wiring hk12x2

Hello jose08042008,

Your sub has dual 2ohm voice coils and can be wired to present a final load to the amplifier of either 1ohm or 4ohms. Unless you have an amp that is stable at 1ohm (not many are), then you will want to use the 4ohm wiring. To wire for 4ohms, jumper the positive terminal of one voice coil to the negative of the other terminal, and connect the remaining positive and negative terminals to your amp. If you know for SURE that your amp is stable at 1ohm, you can connect both positives and both negatives together on the sub and then to the amp. But if the amp 1ohm stable, this will result in overheating, and/or going into "protection" mode, and/or damage to the amp.

Hope this helps.

How do i hook them up to work for 2ohm's

Hello rcantu76,

If your CVR's are 2ohm (model Nr. 07CVR122), you connect the voice coils in series and then parallel both subs to the amp. If the subs are 4ohm (model Nr. 07CVR122), they cannot be wired to 2ohms. Your choices are 1ohm or 4ohms. According to Rockford-Fosgate's data on the P1000-1bd, it is stable at 1ohm.

To wire the 122's at 2ohms, you would connect the sub voice coils in series (jumper one positive to the other negative on each sub), and then connect the remaining positives and negatives to the amp.

To wire the 124's at 1ohm, you would connect all of the positives and all of the negatives together to the amp.

Hope this helps.

Directed 1100d is it 1 ohm stable?

I don't know how you are coming up with a total load of 1 ohm , but if you do manage to hook that amp to a 1 ohm load you will almost certainly blow that amp. Good luck and please don't forget to rate this answer.Thanks.

Planet audio vx3002

Sorry wayne2953 but this amplifier isn't stable @ 1ohm loads. This amplifier would be better suited running a pair of 12's, 4 12" subs could run if configured correctly but the subs would be underpowered and probably not sound very good.

Features of Planet Audio VX3002:

  • Max Power (2 Ohms) : 300W x 2
  • RMS Power (4 Ohms) : 150W x 2
  • Bridged Power (4 Ohms) : 600W x 1
  • Signal-to-Noise Ratio : 102dB
  • Frequency Response : 20Hz-20kHz
  • Dimensions : 10-5/8"W x 2-7/16"H x 16"L
