Try adjusting the magnito. AND - - try removing the screw that holds the bowl on the carb- - look for tiny holes in the bolt or screw - [ call it either] - then run a tiny wire in the holes and blow them out - blow hard -- then replace it. Be sure the o ring is on correctly too.

Adjusting the magneto or coil attached to the spark plug wire is a good idea but they tend to fail rather than go out of adjustment. You can purchase a spark tester at a dealer like www.arcolawn.com and adjust the tester to 12,000 volts. If the ignition coil will not jumt the gap replace the coil.
