Hi, my Marantz sr8001 is on standby mode, can you show me how to reset standby mode. Thanks

  • Anonymous Nov 04, 2010

    Hello there.

Since I have my self the same issue with both an SR6001 & SR8001 AV receivers, I know exactly what you want to do.
I assume by asking you want to reset the Marantz you mean this has went into Stand By mode, after a message "Protection" appeared on the screen of the machine. Is this correct? If yes, you cannot turn on the machine, and there is absolutely no response after pressing any button on the remote.

Please give me detailed info and I will tell you what to do in order to get rid of this problems once for all.

    Best Regards

Marantz sr3053 stuck in headphone mode

Usually the headphone jack is like a mechanical switch and it's probably just not making a good connection inside. Use the correct size headphone jack and insert it then remove it maybe a couple of times and see if that fixes it.

It needs to be serviced. Bad caps, resistors, & possibly a transistor or two. Not an unbearable repair, but you can count on it being 100-175 depending on the shop. You followed all the troubleshooting you could without opening the unit.

Marantz sr8001: standby light blinks rapidly,

Hello there Ed.

For anyone that has ever had such an issue with a MARANTZ SR series (6001. 7001. 7002. 8001...etc...) issue a question and I do HAVE the answer.

I could be just anything, or just the low quality binding posts used by MARANTZ for that.

Please describe to me in details how you've connected your speaker wires at the back, and give me description when and how did this problem came up.

Kind regards

What type of speaker wire terminals does the Marantz sr8001 allow?

Hello there.

These are blind posts (i.e the unscrew back) but will not allow you to unscrew them fully to use spades.
Only bananas (of any type) and bare wire (do not recommend it).

I own the same SR and faced many issues (even going into "protection mode") due to bad quality binding posts used on this machine.

For any clarifications (specific type of terminals) let me know.

Marantz SR8001fail to standby mode, will not reset

Test all your speaker impedances and check for shorts on both wiring and speakers. Use a digital multimeter. If you still have an issue, disconnect all speakers and test receiver. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help some more.
