Well the simple answer is, you don't. The air is being dehumidified by passing it over cold coils (same process is used to cool your home). The moisture in the air condenses on the coils and drips into a drip pan. The cool air is then discharge back into the room.
Try pointing the dehumidifier so that the discharge is directed away from people. Towards a heat source such as a window may offset some of the ill effects.
You don't say what manufacturer or model unit you have, but many models have places at the bottom of the collection pan for a hose connection. Just remember that the basement drain must be lower than the top of the drain pan or the pan will not drain out of the hose.
I am also an air conditioning tech, with same problem and same soleus dehumidifier problem. you must remove the plug and install the drain line hose adapter. Hose must lay flat and have no "hills" for water to drain. With this done pull your drain pan out and set aside. look under right side facing the dehumidifier and you will see a small spout. Has a lip like a little tea pot. Plug that spout. I used a foam ear plug used in work shops. Now give the front of dehumidifier a slight rise on front wheels about the thickness of a pies of cardboard 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Now put drain pan back in an start up. The problem is the drain pan was made with very little differance in pitch between the the hose drain and the bucket drain. Remember to check your drain hose periodically and the air filter also. Good luck
The classic model drains thru the clear hose using gravity. The drip pan in that unit is about 1/2 way up in the cabinet. Make sure the drain hose exits the unit and runs flat or downhill. If the drain hose is coiled vertically or run up hill causing water to trap within the hose it can cause water to back up in the dehumidifier drip pan and overflow causing your problem. If your drain is higher than the base of the dehumidifier, you can raise the dehumidifier or you can purchase a condensate pump kit that will allow the drain water to be pumped up to 15 feet above the dehumidifier.
The drain hose may have become disconnected from the drip pan as well. To check, turn off the humidistat to stop the dehumidifier from running. Next disconnect the cord from the power supply. Remove the six screws holding the cabinet side (with the label) from the cabinet and remove the cabinet side. The drain hose connects to a nipple on the bottom of the drip pan.

the first thing you do to dismantle unit on the pan but i think the sloshing sound is came from the pan may be the hose was have a damage that water drift cause of sloshing sound or the hose cloug up allready cause the water sloshing inside the hose
If the hose is connected to the tap on the drain pan/bucket, did you knock out the center of the hose connection on the bucket? If you didn't that's the problem. If that's not where your hose connection is located, do not put the bucket back in. It triggers the unit to fill the bucket and not use the hose drain. Keep in mind the hose must remain lower than the connection on the dehumidifier to drain properly.
Hi, There are many reasons why a dehumidifier will not work or collect water. Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier
blow some air thru the discharge line,, thats all it is the line is clogged, if the pan is filling with water, it is working but they do get clogged with dust and lint in the air,,
