TV Audio I turned on my TV today to watch a DVD and a buzzing noise is coming out of the left speaker along with the sound from the DVD. What could be the cause of this?

Its audio output IC has damaged. Replace it.

Is the sound coming from the speakers? (do you hear it with the sound turned off)

Either an audio problem if heard only with sound up or if a buzz with sound off it is a coil or transformer on the circuit board vibrating hard enough to produce the noise.

Both are fixable but require different tactics to resolve.

hi yes you can do this press AUD button near the on/off/volume control momentarily to step through the following audio adjustment options volume, bass,treble, balance (left to right) and fader (front to back). when the desired option appears in the display, rotate the volume control knob to adjust that audio feature. When no adjustments have been made for three seconds, the unit will resume normal operation. so you can fade the speakers to however you want them...hope this helps

You may have a torn speaker element. This is usually the cause of buzzing noise in the sound, also you may have a bad capacitor in your audio section. This is what I would suggest doing as a test open the front bottom panel of your TV and visually inspect the speakers for signs of ripping and or tearing in the speaker element. If the element or elements are torn it may be possible to repair it with rubber cement or rubber paste just coat the tear with the rubber cement to hole the torn edges together and allow it to dry for two days before testing the sound. If the speaker elements are not ripped then the problem may be a bad capacitor either in the audio section (power supply) or in the filter block (usually attached to the speakers to separate bass and treble signal to the speakers.

When watching TV or VHS the sound should be stereo and therefor come out of the the 2 front speakers. I suspect you now have sound out of the left front and the center speaker which indicates you connected the center speaker to the right front speakerterminal and the right front to the center terminal.

Just check if all speakers are connected to the correspondent speakerterminal.

If this is correct and the problem persists, try to connect another speaker to the right front terminal to see of the terminal or speaker is not working properly. If another speaker does work on the same connection, your right speaker might be damaged which might not be heard when listening to 5.1 because of the surround sound.

you need to check the earth cable which is disconnected and you need to reconnect it back

be certain its not your cable providing the noise by being ungrounded .or interference from some other device connected or around tv.
disconnect everything except the cable.
turn off all dimmer lighting around tv. try now.
are you using a cable box, if so bypass ,plug cable directly into tv.
try sound again.
then remove cable and plug in dvd or vcr. and try audio now.
if it continues no matter,
its a warranty repair or just use external speakers ,cable boxes can control the audio to ext speakers.

Try to see if the reciever will make the buzzing/noise without anything connected to it except power, and speakers. Tune into a local radio station and see if the noise continues. If the noise has stopped, then you know there is an issue with the player or cable.

It sounds as if the lamp needs to be replaced. The buzzing sound you hear is the ballast attemting to fire the lamp.

Is the buzzing coming from the back of the TV, staying loud even when the volume is turned all the way down, or is it coming from the speakers?
