Perhaps you have set the camera to a record mode other than Auto. Twilight mode for example, does not activate flash so as to set the camera on a tripod and shoot dark landscapes.

Check your camera record mode, and use auto or portrait mode, which they usually activate flash when there is not enough light.

Hope this helps.

Its a common problem with the T1 Camera. Its affected by the CCD issue. Please check the link to repair the camera for free from Sony U.S.

How do i make it only flash once instead of the delayed one.

The multiple flashes are designed to reduce red-eye. You will have a setting to turn that feature off. Look in your manual for how to make the change.

Hi; I do have problem with sony dscT1 when i turn the power on to take the picture i don't see any thing on the screen and I did check my memory stick still ok. thank kb

OK, I just had the same exact problem today. It is a CCD, (an image sensor device) problem. This is a known defect possible in DSC-T1's manufactured prior to March 2004 (http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?mdl=DSCT1&news_id=161). You can have it fixed by Sony for free, though with a $15 shipping charge. To file a service request you can do it over the phone by calling 1.800.222.7669, or by using the following link: https://eservice.sony.com/webrma/web/specialrma.do
Just so you know, we are lucky that this happened to us now, because the cut off for a free repair is March 2009! Good luck!
