GE HSS25GFP not cooling at all

I have a GE Hotpoint side by side model #HSS25GFP. It stopped cooling yesterday and I don't hear the compressor kicking on. I unplugged it and cleaned off the back, underside, etc. In plugging it back in today I realized that all I hear is a click at what seems to be the "breaker" panel inside of the rear of frig. Lights work and it has power. It is only 3 years old. Any suggestions???

May be a problem related to the compressor. Click may be the overload protector on the compressor tripping. If it is a problem with the compressor it should be covered by warranty if it is only three years old.

HSS25GFP Neither side will cool down inside. Both sides set on 9

Hi... I don't know this particular machine... but I'll assume there are 2 separate thermostats as the temps are different. The purpose of the fan is simply to circulate cold air... It doesn't matter if there is one or two compressors as a fault is affecting both sides... I would say motherboard/supply problem.

I have a Hotpoint model HSS25GFPAWW. It stopped cooling, fridge and freezer side. Removed the back panel, fan was not on and compressor was hot.

Unplug the refrigerator, remove the relay from the compressor and give it a shake. If it rattles, it is bad and needs to be replaced. Here is that part. But, since you said the fan was not running I suspect the control board is bad. Here is a link to that part also.
Keep me posted as to your findings.

Hi i have a hotpoint hss25gfpj ww side by side

Very common. Most likely you need a main control board, located in the back of the fridge.

I have hss25gfp side by side the freezer stopped freezing and it very hot on the middle divider. I took off the bottom on the back and it was caked with a bunch of lint. I cleaned it off. But noticed the...

If the compressor is running the condenser fan should be too. If the fan does not run the compressor will overheat and stop. If you cool the underside with a small box fan and the chill returns to the box, replace the condenser fan.

Where is the timer motor on older hotpoint side by sides

Depends on the model, but the easiest place to check is behind the kick panel under the doors. If it's not there try removing the control cover, or you may have to pull the fridge out and remove the compressor cover. These are the 3 most common places for a defrost timer.
