Invalid Battery Hi I have a Motorola Razr V3 phone and it is approx 15 months old although it is rarely used with only about one or two brief calls made on it per week. I only need to charge it about every 6-8 weeks, but when I charged it fully last week it now comes up Invalid Battery. It still lets me make a call, but won't let me charge it. It is now out of warranty so the shop I bought it in couldn't help and said it must need a new battery. Surely after such little use it wouldn't need a new battery already, and how could I be sure that a new battery would solve the problem anyway? Any guidance would be appreciated

I have been having the same problem with my Motorola Krazer. For months now there have been several problems with the phone: It freezes up and I can't turn it off, delayed reactions on pressing keys, and a lot more. In the 13 months that I have had this phone, I have never left it in the heat, and have not dropped it in water. So why am I having these problems? I have to say I am VERY unsatisfied with this product.

Have a motorola razr v3 worked for 4 months bought new from ebay now saying invalid battery. Bought the warranty from square trade but because the phone has a crack in the glass the warranty is void. Even thought the screen works perfect it is just cracked glass

Totally discharging the battery is the way to go. But what you can also do to use your phone in the meantime is this. Plug your charger into the phone withOUT your battery in. It will tell you "Unable to Charge." When it says this, put the battery in. It might tell you "Invalid Battery" a couple more times, but it did eventually say "Charging Battery" for me. After that, simply turn the phone on and it will return to normal. This is when you drain the battery completely. Once I did that, I did not get the invalid battery error again.

My V3 also said Invalid battery to me so I took it out, cleaned all of the contacts and left it for a couple of days.

When I put it back in I then did not turn it on but plugged it in and charged it overnight.

In the morning it had charged and the problem seemed to be sorted. Fine battery wise ever since.

Hope this helps/works for you

Simple solution here...

...totally discharge battery, then remove battery from V3 for about 5 mins, then put back in and recharge for 12-14 hours.

Solved!

Reason, bat needs recalibration with phone.

I took the battery out, cleaned the terminals with an eraser, then swabbed the terminals with alcohol and left it over night. I put it together and plugged in to recharge but the error keeps coming up "invalid battery."

Pull out the battery *while the phone is on*. Wait 15 secs then put battery back in and turn phone on. That should fix it.

Battery in Motorola RAZR V3

I couldnt find anything that says that exactly but if it keeps happneing then most likely that is the case. There are no active recalls for that battery from motorola so most likely there is something on the phone a short or something that could cause it to overheat or overcharge thereby hastening the wear and tear on the battery

Can't hear through earpiece

If the phone is under 1 yr old I suggest finding the nearest Motorola service center as it is under warranty. If its not covered you could replace the speaker yourself, although would require a small amount of soldering or replacing the entire LCD module which could be expensive. Let me know if you decide to give it a try I can help w/ disassembly. Good luck.

This happened to mine after I got the Razor wet - I pulled the battery and the sim card, blew it out with a can of compressed air and it worked for about 8 months. Then it got hot out in my car and started doing the same thing - blowing it out hasnt worked again-
