Black screen but have sound

I was watching my tv and the screen went black, and I could still hear the sound. If I turn the channel I can see the information box with what I am watching but still no picture. any suggestions? This is the second TV that has done this. It is a RCA.

    I cant see the picture on my tv but the volume works and i can view the menu, please help

If it is not a hardware problem, it is most likely the Closed Captioning system.
If you can still see the on-screen menu, go into your TV's menus and disable Closed Captioning.

Blank tv screen when turned on

the problem is in your tuner section or video if section check for its proper voltage. if you are not tech. person get the help of tech person it is not a major problem.

No pic but sound :/

You are having a high voltage problem. Quite possibly in the horizontal deflection. I would check the horizontal output and regulator transistors.
