GE WBVH6240F Front Load Washer Logo
Posted on Sep 11, 2010

WBVH6420F Will not lock the door nor start when Power and Start buttons are pushed, only beeps twice. Found the door plunger broken, replaced it and all it does is still beeps twice and will not lock. Found and printed our GE Service Manual and attempted to go into test mode but nothing displays when I go through the steps to enter the test mode, Just beeps twice. By reading this site found it could be a couple of things but would like an experts opinion. (1) Will not enter test mode because there is still enough water in the machine to not allow the water level switch to reset and (2) There might be something lodged in the pump. When I cleaned the trap it was totally clogged. I'll attempt to **** water out tomorrow and also see if I can get the pump out to wash it out. Any pointers anyone can give me??? Thanks...

Do not feel alone on this one. I too am experiencing this problem. I've cleaned out the lint trap and not much was in there. I am still getting the two beeps and nothing happens. Please let me know if there is a solution.

scmillhouse, I also posted on another site and they responded with a potential solution. I've ordered a control board assembly and waiting for it to come in. I read on even another site a post that experienced the same problem and he replaced the control assembly and it resolved his problem. I'll post back and let you know if it resolved my problem. Since they say no advertisement in these posts I'm not sure if I can tell you the other site but if you do additional searches you should find it. It is posted just as above (I copied and pasted).
The only thing is they said to take some voltage reading using the diagrams inside the housing of the unit. I could find and drawing with voltage reading, just instructions on how to go into Service Test Mode, which you should know can't be done!!!.
Find the manual, search 'Service Manual for WBVH6240F' and it should lead you to the link.
Good luck and if you can't find it post back and I'll figure out a way to get you the info or give you my email address.

Gene, thanks for the reply. I could not find a free copy of the service manual out there. Nor could I find this posted on any other sight, google gave me one hit, this page.

I had suspected the door lock was the problem. I dis-assembled everything in my way to removing that component, i could not find anything that visually looked like it could be the culprit so i re-assembled everything. Interestingly when explaining to my wife what I was doing, she mentioned that she was angry and slammed the door extra hard during the last use (d'oh). I still thing this is the problem but am afraid to order a $100 part on a hunch.

I also am not able to get into the Service Test Mode. The manual under the lid of the machine says to hit a few buttons and you can get into the service test mode, it does not seem to do anything when I do this (just sets a 2 hour delay).

Unlock control stick for jazzy select power chair.

Gerald,
Well there are a couple ways, One is push the start button within 10 sec. push the horn button twice. This should do it, but if it is a different Joystick then try, push the button to start then hold the Joystick forward until it beeps, then hold the joystick knob back until it beeps and then it should be unlocked.

Ge adora washing machine beeps when pushing start with door closed

Hit the power button until there is NO display . Unplug and wait a minimum of 30 seconds , plug back in and within 30 seconds hit SIGNAL button then DELAY START button then SIGNAL button again then DELAY START button again. door should lock and display t01 It is now in test mode . There are 14 different test it can run through in this mode , but all we are trying to do is check for error codes now and maybe get you back to normal, So turn the knob one click clockwise and hit the START/PAUSE button and see if any error codes come up. To exit the diagnostic mode - hit signal button then delay start button then signal button then delay start button and you are out of service test mode and back to normal. Post any error codes.

I put my kenmore oven on to clean.I PRESS CLEAN AND THAN START.THE DOOR LOCKED AND THE CLEAN LIGHT CAME ON.AFEW SECOND LATER I HEARD BEEP BEEP AND ERR-F9.GOT MY BOOK OUT AND FOUND NO ANSWER.SO I CALL...

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Machine will not start dL code flashes

The door lock is not telling the control board the door is locked. You probably have a bad door switch or the wires to the door switch are corroded or broken. It could simply be a wire has come loose. Those washer do vibrate quite a bit.

Won't start - 3 beeps when Start button pushed

CHECK THE FOLLOWING--

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever.

How do I clear error beeping (F9) on my Amana gas range

try to hold in on the oven light switch plunger that the door would hit if it was closed properly. what you probably did was to pull the door open while it was trying to lock. once you hold the plunger in, then hit the clean cycle again and then push to cancel button to get the door latch to unlock the door. it may take a minute or two but that should clear up the error code and let you use the oven again.
next time if you push the clean by mistake, just let it go and then when it says "locked" just push the cancel button. it will unlock and be ready to use.
