Computer doesn't recognize camera

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Downloading pictures from coolpix l120 to hp laptop compaq presrio with only usb cord

The computer doesn't know what the camera is without the software. You can download the software from the nikon website. Easier fixes are available. If it is a notebook (laptops arent laptops anymore more) you should have a card reader slot on the left side of your computer. Remove the SD card from the camera and plug it into their computer. Then you'll have the option to import the pictures.

Computer doesn't recongnize sony camera usb

To download the pictures you need the driver for the camera ...this can be downloaded from the support site if you do not have it ..but from what you said it seam that the issue may be of other cause..
The camera need to be powered and on ..in the moment you connect it to the computer ..and also you need to confirm the pc connection from the camera in the moment you connect ti .make sure you have its driver installed .
Try to connect in a different usb port ..cause even if the driver is missing the computer should react on the usb device being plugged and ask for the driver.
If no port will react ..try the camera oin another computer ..and like I said always make sure it is powered and on ... If it makes no reaction in another computer ..than something is wrong with the camera .Another method to download the pictures..is to use the card from the camera directly into a card reader and copy the pictures from it ..
here is a link for the driver if you need it ..
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=DSCW370G&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab
this is teh picture browser it uses...be sure you select the operation system you run ..and also make sure you download the full program first and the upgrade after ..cause the update download may not work without the original one ..(down on the list ) ..
Good luck !

I went from XP to windows 7 64 bit and now my cyber-shot camera is not recognized when I try to download pictures. Sony couldn't figure it out.

If you connect CyberShot Camera from a USB Cable, check the cable once. If that doesn't solve the problem, Choose Mass storage option from the Camera Menu when prompted. I think it should work.

I'm trying to find/download pics from my Lumix DMC-ZS6 built-in memory. Realize I need to download to the computer, but my USB coard that came with the camera doesn't seem to fit the camera???

First of all, you can buy replacement cords at your local Walmart. Second, to get the pictures from the internal memory of the camera, you need to insert a memory card, then go into the menu and find "copy" which will give you the option to copy the internal memory to the card.

What if I can't seem to get the photos off my

Recommend that you use a CF card reader instead of trying to download directly from the camera. It'll save you aggravation in the long run (it's much faster, reliable, and doesn't use your camera's batteries). Here's one I highly recommend. But if that is too costly, they can also be very inexpensive (as seen here). You remove the CF card from your camera, and insert it into the reader. Then just plug the reader into a USB port on your computer. Your card shows up as a drive, that you can just copy and paste the pictures onto your hard drive.

If your pictures in camera memory, try to move it to your memory card. While your camera does not paired successfully with PC, you use the card reader to your pictures by PC.

I have my usb inserted in my computer and I need help downloading my pictures. How do I do download pics to my computer?

If you have Windows all you should need to do is plug in your camera via usb, turn it on and put it in review mode and the computer should detect the camera and ask if you want to download your photos. If this doesn't happen automatically you can open my computer and look for the camera which should be listed, open the camera folder find the pictures you want (press control and a to select all) press control and c to copy, open my pictures, press control and v to paste.
